Back in the religious community era the mayor's wife had them make it illegal to close your front windows. She liked to walk around at night and check on people. Spaghetti Hill is where the fishermen have lived for years. Those sixth generation Italian American women can cast an evil eye, though!

I'm hoping it helps Talarico in the senate race and Hinojosa in the governor race. Not that Talarico has any sway over that bill, but voter anger carries over. I can't believe that Abbott is still in office. But the part of my brain that deals in logic has a problem believing most things these days

Too bad we can't start a gofundme to buy our own politicians and judges. Unfortunately our collective worth is so far below Thiel, Musk, and the rest of their ilk we'd be lucky to maybe get Gorsuch.

Have you ever noticed in all those 60's through 80's spy books and movies the Bulgarians are always the brutal and stupid assassins working for the KGB. It may be in their DNA.

By the time all of this is over and the rebuilding starts, Trump will have dragged JD through so much mud along with him that Vance will be as popular as Swallwell. My magic 8 ball is telling me morality & truth are making a comeback. Who knows?

And it all began innocently with soft interview tv. Shows like Phil Donahue started out trying to humanize social issues. Network ratings pushed it as far as the people demanded. You're right. We're not intellectually or emotionally ready for our technology.

It's dizzying, the possibilities.

A tip of the hat to John Perry Barlow and Bob Weir.

Well, first they came for trans people but I didn't say anything because, you know, I'm a straight, Jewish, conservative...

Long ago in a land called UCLA, there was a homeless dog who lived on the campus. He was friends with all the students and probably ate lots of bad food. They named him tirebiter for his hobby of chasing cars. A comedy group formed there & had a character named George Tirebiter. CliffNotes answer โœŒ๏ธ

And I'm sure that he is more than willing to graciously acknowledge the shoulders he is standing on. I wish you could ask him because I know what he'd say.

I seriously don't think you understand the difficulty inherent in convincing people who have been brainwashed all their lives, and living in communities that reinforce these beliefs, to even listen to you. He's the loudest voice with the most integrity. Not a "bro" but I respect the hell outa him

Also, when we look at this historically, we've been dealing with this for over 3 millennia. This is just the latest version. Add P.T. Barnum's observation that there's a sucker born every minute and it's a miracle it's made this close to working. Evolution please hurry.

If only we had a 40 year old clone of Bernie Sanders. He actually gets people to listen. I think the only reason the donor class isn't afraid of him is they keep expecting him to die and he just keeps going like the energizer bunny.

I know. This world wide swing to the right, brought to us by Russian disinformation, right wing disinformation, and spoon fed to us by an industrialist/techbro alliance profiting off our downfall. It's going to swing back towards progress but we'll have to keep pushing

Yeah, I totally agree with you on that point too, I'm just saying that we didn't have a choice between whichever controllable candidates they usually offer last time. We've been GOP lite since Clinton but it's going to take a voter upheaval to change it.

I won't disagree with the view that the dem party is unserious. However, I am glad she's going to run in a primary against other qualified candidates. Voters in the primaries who choose her because "it's only fair" will be offset by the ones who don't because "she's a liability."

I kinda see her as the Slim Pickins character in Dr. Strangelove. Oh wait, I meant Kristi Noem. Yeah, Pam Bondi could save us.

A significant section of America believes this to be preferable to giving trans people rights and accepting non whites into our culture. Australia was colonized by criminals. America by religious loonies. Criminals can be rehabilitated. Loonies just make more loonies.

I'll give props to Pope Leo. I'm not surprised at the GOP profiles in simpering. Democratic leadership has been either flailing or has been so corporatized since 92 that it's lost it's voice. I can't think of a nationally beloved voice of reason that could get through to people ala Walter Cronkite
