Sunday marks the anniversary of the Chernobyl accident.
While it happened far beyond the UK, it transformed how scientists understand & model how hazardous material moves through the atmosphere - shaping tools like our NAME dispersion model, which is still used

Thank you robot for teaching me a new Urdu word
I agree with what she is saying there in the second picture with both her hands. He does live in opposite land
Coca Cola owning the Thums Up brand which is still sold in returnable bottles that get reused seems helpful though
This weekend, whilst rummaging at a flea market, we found this book of designs for Modernist homes - published in Sao Paulo in 1956.
Here we have scanned 15 of our favourites www.presentandcorrect.com/blogs/blog/s...
Couple of minutes walk away thereās Brentford Steam Museum with an internationally important collection of pumping machines
The museum thing is funny because it is true! The musical museum in Brentford holds the biggest and nationally important collection of paper rolls for mechanical instruments
Yeah thereās a defence to breaking immigration laws if you are fleeing persecution, if not, good luck to her but she might just get booted out without prosecution
Urgh :(
Sheās desperate to go to Yarlās Wood IRC then! Ahahaha she is unlikely to claim asylum so detention centre it is
I do want to know why so many of them are wearing trousers with drawstrings right now

Visa bans: exclusion of foreign nationals whose presence is not conducive to the public good
Everyone here likes to read stuff, right?
R (on the application of Lord Carlile of Berriew QC and others (Appellants) v Secretary of State for the Home Department (Respondent)
A man who has done so much good
I came across him as one of the pioneers of legal blogging way back when as just a reader and I have followed what he wrote ever since
My condolences
Those buildings were given names that express so much optimism, Lunar House, Apollo House etc
You see I know about the never a queue staff security screening and the forbidden short cuts at Heathrow and the whole thing just makes me angry because putting me through the airport experience is a choice I am subjected to
I arrive as late as possible
When my team Brentford was little and not premier league we just got a security guard to let people park in local office parking spaces at the weekend for no money. Now it is harder to park
What was it like? For football in the UK they just close off whole areas near stadiums to cars when they are in cities, reroute buses, because it isnāt illegal for pedestrians to walk in the road so it is just safer to ban cars and let people take over the streets. Was your problem traffic?
A bad drawing of Gabriel of Arsenal head-butting Manchester City forward Erling Haaland #MCIARS
That was fun
I went to Burnley to support the bees this season. Craziest game I have ever been at
Was a very good away day
I believe Burnley has it in them. Every team has the potential for a proper upset in them
I am hoping to be at Anfield for Brentfordās last game of the season
I think we could bottle it and slip down the table out of European places but I have made my peace with that š
Nail biting stuff!
Genuinely, not being flippant at all, I hope no fans die
The transport problem is also a crowd control and safety problem
People are being mean about European attitudes to all this. However, we actually have some actual power to influence things. I support a premier league club, we got an extra late train service to run recently just by asking the train operator. Cost to us, zero £ apart from normal ticket prices.
And yes I want to know what FIFA was thinking exactly and more about the bid to host this, not just totally blaming local transport bodies
It is a mess
You see travel was also completely free for London 2012, and there was a whole transport upgrade thing that went on so venues were accessible by public transport. It would have been Londonās shame if local stations to Olympic and Paralympic venues were not wheelchair accessible, and the gov paid
We are just planning for the next Euros! It genuinely takes a couple of years planning to get the loyalty points to get in a good tranche of ticket releases
Donāt know anyone who is going and for a lot this is actually truly an anti Trump decision not even money
I went to the Euros in 2024. Travel was free in the region with ticket, tickets were affordable, fan zones were free. Had a brilliant time and it was so worth breaking the law taking my son out of school to come too.
You couldnāt pay me to come to this anti-football thing
Arsenal have former bee Christian NĆørgaard on the bench again :(
Thereās a place I go to that does a pork vindaloo and it isnāt super spicy
