of course, whilst I was there I topped up on RPi related products. Picked up almost enough stuff to make an actual computer. just missing a keyboard and mouse.

Runs off batteries too.

A few pictures from yesterday's CamJam event.

Got there just in time for the afternoon talks, and then spent another hour or so checking out the show and tells. Plus chatting with a few people I've not seen since the last RPi event I went to!

My ThunderBirds 60th Anniversary collector's edition has arrived (just a few months late, but hey).

Box looks nice and comes with an episode guide and several posters/schematics.

Will have to watch a few episodes and see how many differences I spot!

ooo I lucked out then.

I ordered a CM4 and CM5 yesterday, just missing the price hike it seems as today the same website shows the higher price.

At this point, I'm unlikely to get any more until a future 6 comes out.

There are electrical differences (e.g. USB3).

You can support CM4 and CM5 on the same board (i.e. compute blade) but Argon mentioned they were focussed on future compatibility, not backwards.

My CM4 doesn't boot in the official CM5 IO board either. I may see if I have a newer revision to try.

There does seem to be a fitting issue on the right hand side, the various USB ports don't line up with the case and are very hard to use. So will need to query that.

Doesn't power up with a CM4 installed, so no easy route to test RISC OS on it.

My Argon ONE Up CM5 laptop arrived this morning. For a Kickstarter project it was pretty quick.

Plugged in a CM5, installed the Argon extras and seems to do all the laptop things. (Battery, hotkeys, lid closing detection)

Installed Raspbian and, yes, its Raspbian on a CM5. So a good start.

They're a bit behind the times... My C64 was doing this back in the 80s!

I doubt their 'tinyPeople' can play the piano or feed the dog.

Here's hoping, temp has gone up a bit more now, so might do a COVID test tomorrow. (Already did the flu test today)

So might get a 3 for 3 for COVID @ Christmas!

Was running a temperature this morning and coughing hard enough it felt like my brain was bouncing in my head!
So I skipped work today.

On the plus side, at least this happened after my holiday and not during, like it normally does.

I've got a roll or two of TPU, but haven't braved printing with it yet!

Really should give it a go.

Finished printing out the 'BladeRunner' enclosure for the Compute Blades.

Bit of a tight fit getting them installed, especially the one using the RPi CM5 heat sink which required quite a bit of pressure to slot into place.

Of course, now I need to remove them again to install OS and drives!

One blade setup, with fan, and the case being printed (12 hour print job!)

Its only 2 years late, but my Compute Blades have finally arrived!

Luckily I only ordered one RPi CM4 in the pack (note to self: Don't pre-order off the shelf extras), so I can use that in one and then get a RPi CM5 for the other.

Next step is to start printing the enclosure, then some setup.

My, passively cooled, RPi server still seems to be suffering from the heat...

So introducing the 'JankFan 2000™', causing an almost immediate drop of 30C-40C!

Seems to be keeping the RPi stable after 2 1/2 hours.

Hmm my RPi server has started crashing, I wonder why.

$ vcgencmd measure_temp

Oh, that's a bit toasty.

Everything re-installed into a newly 3D printed case (makerworld.com/en/models/16...)
Has a bit more room inside than the last one, plus has 4 3.5" bays.
just need to work out where I put my fan controller, as its rather noisy at 100% speed.

Noticed the Radxa Pentsa SATA Hat was back in stock at RS (Quite a bit cheaper than other retailers).

So time to rebuild my Raspberry Pi NAS again, hopefully this time with a less janky power setup for the HDDs!

They also start with telling you the movie contains minimal interruptions.

I'd find it less annoying if they just straight up said 'This movie contains ads'.
