Received a lovely postcard from Thailand today. It seems old fashioned but I really think we should hold onto those little gems. It feels like we have become so impatient and everything has to be instant and we aren’t better for it

This is the first series where there hasn’t been a couple I’ve disliked, and it’s made it all so much more enjoyable to watch #raceacrosstheworld

Whether it’s Zia Yusuf vs Nigel Farage, Elon Musk vs Donald Trump, or even Dominic Cummings vs Boris Johnson… alpha males always end their partnerships in politics with an utter car crash of a fallout.

Trump and Elon Musk feud is entertaining at first, then you realise how depressing things are because of them

The Norman conquest brought a massive influence from Norman French to English, yet our days of the week have mostly retained their Norse origins. Funny how that never changed

I'm sure they will but I hope Spurs fans cherish this feeling. Ignore any talk of it's only Europa. There's a reason why United fans are still so in love with the CWC win in 1991. We've won far bigger things but they don't endure as much. Same with Newcastle & the League Cup. Can't beat that feeling

There’s a character in one of Martin Amis’s novels – I can’t remember which –who says “I don’t know much about science, but I know what I like.” I can’t say that I know much about science, but I do like to learn about it, and I loved this book – published in paperback today – when it came out. 1/2

Being able to survive a divorce, remain good friends and then go on Race Across the World together is definitely the sign of a strong pair.
