bacteria that we’ll look closer during Jun 13th workshop dnaseq.eventbrite.com belongs to Firmicutes phylum, known to adapt to gut microbiota. I.sakaiensis & E.coli which we’ve been dealing with, belong to Proteobacteria phylum. #dnasequencing #synbio #plasticpollution #biology

We identified a prospective bacteria from recent DNA barcoding workshop (openpetase.org/barcode). Its genome suggests a protein (yellow) that might shape like PETase (blue). For appreciation on the structure, I made an origami model for the latter. #dna #synbio #plasticpollution #microbiology

PCR: barcode bacterial DNA Grow bacteria, extract their DNA and investigate like a scientist. Possibly the only serious PCR experiment open to non-student in London

We will host a PCR workshop next month, Apr 11-12. I’d appreciate if you can help spreading the word. dnabarcode.eventbrite.co.uk

Great talk by Dr Poulton. Good vibe from audience on floor. Had to leave halfway during Q&A (what a shame for me). Will definitely join next month. Just converted from Twitter/X. Thanks Richard an staffs.
