The neurodivergent frustration when noticing something about the dynamic with someone being *Off*, trying to talk to the person about it but getting denial/no engagement, followed by the bonus round of hearing what that someone’s issue is from a third person (& it’s an avoidable misunderstanding). 🫠

Once again: if you use generative AI for anything, I don't want to work with you.

I will not hire you.

I do not want your product, your service, or anything to do with you.

I will actively seek alternatives to you and make sure to support humans who care about ethics.

Went to an in-person figure drawing session for the first time since before the pandemic and it was fucking wonderful 💙 I’ve missed being able to do this weekly and while that isn’t feasible (yet!!) I’m really glad to have found an awesome local option

all of the artemis II crew are public school kids. isn't it incredible what you can do with a well-funded, free education system that offers equitable opportunities to all kids, regardless of their socioeconomic background?

A photo from behind the scenes on filming Revenge of the Sith. Against a bluescreen backdrop, George Lucas snarls and raises his hands to the sky, as Ian McDiarmid in full costume as Palpatine, does similarly in the background.

It runs on the blockchain and that's enough for me to never ever use Brave Browser. Screw the cryptobros.

This is something everyone should read.

Online Harassment Field Manual - PEN America Strategies and resources that writers, journalists, their allies, and their employers can use to defend against online harassment and hate.

One last thing before I log off.

I took a digital bystander intervention class today from Right To Be, and they shared this INCREDIBLY valuable resource by @penamerica.bsky.social for anyone who may have to deal with The Internet being The Internet.

I am...very confused why this is supposed to be funny.

Jokes that mental health causes the hideous things ppl like her do just plays into scaremongering, and scapegoating bigotry & hatred as something only the "mentally ill" are capable of.

She is a hyper-rich bigot. That's all there is to it.

It's easier to accept an abnormal outlier behaving monstrously because it also absolves everyone normal of ever considering they, too, have the capacity to do awful things. Conflating mental health or other deviations from social norms with capacity for harm is such a dangerous approach!

Heartily agreed with all of your excellent points!! Folks trying to distance the idea of anyone 'normal' having the capacity for atrocity also insidiously dismisses that person's agency and diminishes the very real actions they've taken in a way that implies the consequences should be lesser, too.

The art review process for almost everything I do for my dayjob starts with me being ferally effusive about how much I love what the artist is working on before I reign it in and my neurodivergent hyperfixation activates for feedback mode & I try to use my words instead of excited keymash yelling.

All of this talk about whether Lebanon was part of the ceasefire or not is a distraction from the fact that Israel bombed the capital of Lebanon 100 times in 10 minutes, wiping out entire residential blocks and killing more than 200 people. IDGAF what the ceasefire said or didn’t say to be honest

Wild how many of the most well-known men in positions of power haven't earned it through their own merit or hard work, but instead failed upward while conning everyone.

everyone trying to sell you on generative AI are the same swindlers who'd try to rope you into an MLM/pyramid scheme/snake oil/etc

I have lived in many countries and every single one is "just like us." The food, clothes, and traditions might be different, but every country is full of people who just want to live ordinary, peaceful lives and pursue their passions. And every single one has issues with terrible people in power.

You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads:

The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you.

And our governments are very much the same...

- Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
