Dereg of building permissions? There’s a draft NPPF. Decisions are still being made under old regime. I think it’s ok to say Labour are still wrestling with implementing change. They’ve hitched to budget constraints. However to pretend the world is turned upside down just creates falsehoods.

That isn’t true though. I was no fan of previous governments. But much of the devo and regen funding was negotiated under different governments. Where Labour could have made big new investments such as HS3, theyve copped out. Yes some targeted new money - regen now was set in motion years ago
There’s such little interest in the ward itself. By-elections always play out like this but they aren’t even pretending to care about what needs the people of Gorton and Denton might have. It’s not a good strategy to beat reform
As a resident of gorton and Denton; it is depressing that no party is even pretending to address local needs or wants. Instead treating the area as a Westminster prize. A pawn. The area needs a real supporter who will fight against the inequality witnessed across the ward.

Helicopter taking water from Errwood to put out fire above Goyt. Looked hot work. And constant
Other than recommending you google it. A roadman is someone who is street wise, has its roots in Jamaican Uk slang. Youth, usually wearing black designer street wear.
Cargo bikes should advertise to Roadmen. I had a really good chat in the park with a roadman who understood how he could get his kid about. And even an ecargo bike would save him money. Then I keep getting compliments from other roadmen. That’s the audience to hit.
I once got punctured on Eccles Pike by a hedgehog prong/spike
What is that. Imagine an Edwardian seeing that; or even describing that experience to someone 20 years ago. Our expectations are so low. I do remember auctions with similar types of things in 2000. But depressing. Car boots are more lovingly set out.
This is how you end up with Gatorade watering crops.
Charing Cross Road, pedestrianised today. Glorious. Because whenever you take cars away, cities get better.
I now have my second easiest and lost the bottom of the cassette. I’ll have to settle.
I am terrible indexing my gears. Going on a very hilly ride tomorrow and couldn’t get the bottom three cogs of my cassette. Fixed that. Now I can’t get the top two. And I don’t want to make it worse. Going to be a grind.
Cargo bike at Embankment Salford next to Deloitte sign.
Cargo bike parked up inside. Sign in background says ‘A safe haven for your bike and a comfy spot for your gear.’ Nice room.
Lots of cargo bikes in timeline today. Here was me in for a 9am meeting at aecom not Deloitte. They got me to bring it into the bike store. Difficult to get through doors. But good space- plenty of room.
I’m not paying £31 a month to watch live cycling. Really enjoyed it. Particularly track league. But that’s crazy. I don’t want to watch rugby.
Venus and Saturn lined up.
Mars and Jupiter. Had to go wide angle so just two dots.
Mars- Jupiter - Venus and Saturn all lined up tonight. Impossible for me to photo. But get outside and have a look.
They were. I was actually shopping for my daughter. 70% of what I buy is usually ‘boys’ or it’s all washed out pastels and being kind/nice/ messages with frills. Not bold, primary colours: With science or dinosaurs. She likes pink and unicorns but also other stuff.
Children’s jumpers with cars on
Children’s jumpers with cars on.
Who says we don’t live in a car brain world. About half of the jumpers today had cars on them. Conditioning
A bear on a child’s jumper. With a horror style silver graffiti smile and a winking eye sprayed onto it. Underneath in serial killer handwriting it says laugh often.
This child’s jumper is terrifying. Both in message and execution. (Looking for nursery clothes)
Crazy. Undertaking. Overtaking
Moseley road. Two lane traffic. 40 mph. Outside university sports facility. It connects only to 30 or below roads. And is a residential neighbourhood.
Forgot to post the picture of the road I’m talking about. But it’s obvious hopefully
Then the driver - who on a slow moving roundabout just starts driving out whilst I’m on it and they’re looking at me. Dead eye. And carry on driving towards me. I had to stop. In the roundabout. to not get hit. I passed her in the queue. There were more too.
Lots of rubbish drivers on commute. One incident; two cars nosed into cycle lane - blocking half of it. Both chatting. One looking at the other whilst is car creeps forward further into bike lane. I shout 😮. He starts yelling he’s ok as he’s not parked in the pavement and tells me to F off.
Nor should it’s sister road be dual lane. And 40. (Or certainly was 40 2 years ago.) This can be one of the most terrifying roads in weather like today. It was today. Race track. And entrance to university sports facilities where kids play at the weekend.
Too narrow. Restricted height. Uneven historic cobblestone on inclines. Blind bends at pinch points. I think I may have left some out.
Cargo bike negating a bumpy and uneven towpath. A lot of hike a bike.
Canal towpaths aren’t cycle infrastructure. Change my mind. Used it with the cargo bike to get to velodrome for jumble sale. So much inaccessible. And at least one turn back on way into town. I would use the Highway segregated cycle track but there’s a big gap on a dodgy bit of dual carriageway.
Sometimes a bit of escape. Human Traffic. BBC iPlayer. I’d watched it so many times ive not watched it in 20 years. Watched it again. I’d recommend it. It includes the best song about Belfast m.youtube.com/watch?v=RmRc...
Incredible
Get your good selves to Swinton tomorrow. This looks amazing. It’s called Swinton ark and was organised by a colleague. Brilliant. Picture stolen from Derek Antrobus.
