Something that really bothers me about deltarune is how the darkners dont really resemble their objects? this is why i took it upon myself to redesign them, if @tobyfox wants to hit me up... heh.... im up to fix his game!

An illustration of dess holiday from the game deltarune sitting cross legged and chewing bubblegum. She is wearing a half open red flannel button shirt showing a gray tank top underneath and black shorts. Next to her is an illustration of only her head and sholders and two speech bubbles with the texts "Are you high rn?" and "Yea".

Making a popular show is crazy cuz you can explicitly set certain things up through clues and symbolism and there will be people who are like "I see all that, and I'm acknowledging that I see all that... Anyway my theory is that the opposite is true. ☝️😀"

I think it's funny I've seen so many people skip the "In the past I have looked into various options with my publisher, 8-4, but nothing has come of that yet. Maybe I should try a different approach." when that's the most important part to me lol

Recently, Fangamer asked me to make a post in Japanese regarding the translation of OFF.
Well...in the responses to that post, I noticed some frustration from Latin American fans. Let
me address a few of those issues now.

1. There is an officially licensed UNDERTALE concert series that unfortunately has no shows
planned in Latin America. I did retweet its schedule on request, but I have hardly any
involvement with the concert series and no input on where they perform. But, the organizers have heard the enthusiasm from Latin America, and I personally think it would be great to
have performances there. I hope it works out!

2. Fangamer’s shipping costs to Latin America are prohibitively expensive. As just one of
Fangamer’s clients, I am aware of this problem and I’ve asked them about possible solutions
before. I think it would be amazing if they could find affordable shipping to Latin America (and
other affected regions), but they have expressed that it’s a huge logistical hurdle. The other
shipping methods they’ve tried had a lost package rate of over 50%…

Still, I think Fangamer is interested in finding solutions, so I hope that we can figure out some way to get affordable merch to Latin American fans. Fangamer is very easy to work with and
truly passionate about the things they make. I really trust them and would prefer to collaborate
exclusively with them on merch.

3. Unfortunately, there are no translations for UNDERTALE into other languages besides
Japanese. That includes Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, but also every other language –
Chinese, Korean, Russian, French, German, Italian, and more.

I know it sucks that there are no other official translations for UNDERTALE. But I want to
make it clear that this isn’t because I have a grudge against other countries. It’s because, if I
release something official, I want it to match my vision. I was only able to do this for the
Japanese version because I know Japanese myself, and I worked very closely with our
brilliant translator to thoroughly check the text. I am not against official translations for other languages if we could make it work the same way… In the past I have looked into various options with my publisher, 8-4, but nothing has come of that yet. Maybe I should try a different approach.

I’m very happy that there are unofficial translations on PC. Considering I don’t understand
other languages, letting fans interpret the game without the burden of being “officially” perfect is amazingly helpful.

As for DELTARUNE, it’s just not feasible from a development standpoint to support other
languages right now, since it would make the game take longer to come out...
---
I’m honored to have many fans across the world, and of course that means Latin America too.
I don’t want anyone to feel left out. I’m sorry if my silence made me seem like I was ignoring
anyone.

Ralsei Tea normally heals Kris for only 60 HP, but if you select the "It's okay not to smile" option, Ralsei Tea will now heal Kris for 100 HP. Due to all of the teas becoming rotten after chapter 2, this is impossible to see without hacking.

So this is the first mistranslation(first screenshot) I've found in the Japanese localization?
-
When the LIGHT is
subsumed by SHADOW
「光が 闇に 飲まれるとき」
-
"Shadow" was translated as 闇/DARK, but it's always translated as "影"/"SHADOW".
Shadow "影" != 闇/DARK, it's important thing in deltarune.

Btw, it's funny how "とある" means "certain", so IT'S MORE STRANGE, cuz, I think, we should know who purified our crystal, but it's hidden and even more complex in JP localization

I was reading all the texts mentioning crystals and saw an unused text about a pure crystal. The Japanese localization blew my mind.
If we translate the Japanese text about a pure crystal, we get:
"By the power of a certain cat, the element of darkness is purified."

Concept sketches of Susie slapping a KO'd Kris in the back of the head, with a variant for using it while Kris was already up, which didn't get into the final game. Also present are sprites of Ralsei and Spamton as cherubs, which DID get into the final game.

‪Pose ideas I had for Susie's "Wake" ACT in Chapter 4 that didn't get used + bonus cherubs that did #tassyart #deltarune

The actual testing period will last for an indefinite amount of time. After that, the game needs to get approved on consoles and we need to do various other things to prepare for release.

That'll be all from me on this subject for a while...

The professional testers are familiarizing themselves with the game now. They begin formally testing on April 1st.

Japanese translation quality assurance is projected to be completed in April.

Outside of addressing bugs and translation, most of the development team has moved on from Chapter 5.

I've made some Deltarune console borders for the ch 1 areas (since it bugged me that they all use the Castle Town border, while ch 2 areas all have their own)!

Empty versions are in the replies, in case you want to use them in a mod or something (*aggressive winking*)
