They may not be as solid defensively as they were last season but given we were playing at Anfield I can’t agree that they were there for the taking. They may have conceded 2 goals against both Bournemouth and Newcastle but they did score 7 in the process

“Liverpool were there for the taking”. Not sure what this even means. I didn’t see a team on the ropes waiting to be put out of their misery. You should have seen Tottenham yesterday vs Bournemouth. Now there was a team totally for the taking. Bournemouth absolutely battered them
Past results at Anfield may have been a factor for not going all in. I agree that Arsenal may have missed a chance when on top, particularly in the 1st half. But one cannot accuse them of lacking attacking ambition when both teams adopted a cagey attitude. It took a special goal to break deadlock
Timing of subs possibly conditioned by the fact that Odegaard had only 20 minutes in him and had to combine both his and Eze’s introduction due to Saliba’s early sub. He then left a final sub till the end just in case of an injury. But I agree that ideally those subs should have come earlier
A loss is always a blow. It’s still August and plenty of twists and turns to come. I am confident that we will be there or thereabouts come May. I think that Arteta’s line up was conditioned by Anfield’s washing machine effect, Liverpool’s attacking prowess, injuries & past Anfield results
Is long and surely more twists and turns to come. Arsenal showed that do not have to fear any other team. My only concern is that we need to be more clinical. Hopefully once the new players gel, we will see much needed improvement on that front
Conditioned by Odegaard not having 20 minutes in his legs and therefore Arteta having to combine subs of Eze with him since Saliba had already been substituted and he had to keep the other sub slot for any injuries later on. It took a wonder goal to beat Arsenal. We shouldn’t be disheartened. Season
running at Kerkez. Would have been great if Gjorkores or the midfielders made runs to the spaces that Madueke released the ball. Once Liverpool started taking control mid 2nd half, the subs of Odegaard and Eze could have some sooner to wrest control back. Possibly the timing of the subs were
I could see why Arteta chose that line up. He wanted to gain control of the game, avoid Liverpool’s washing machine at Anfield, and limit Liverpool’s attacking prowess. He succeeded in all of them. What was lacking was cutting edge at the top. Madueke created a couple of decent chances by his direct
Embarrassed by their takes on the match. It makes you wonder whether they really understand the game or whether they do it just to boost their profile. I have no time for any of them
I am taken aback by the level of analysis of Arsenal’s loss v Liverpool by pundits. It makes me question whether I have watched the same match as they have. I have seen Arsenal’s performance described as embarrassing, poor, cowardly etc. And same from some Arsenal fans too. They should be the ones
Eze’s reaction to the crowd’s response to his presentation was a joy to behold.
My headlines for yesterday’s match. No words required
I use my glass half full analogy. He was better than Rice and Saka
Odegaard was good, definitely better than Rice and Saka. A couple of times he missed his pass, especially on a couple of transitions where we could have hurt ManU. But on the whole a positive shift by the captain
Look we weren’t great at all, far from it. But I take the 1-0 result especially given our recent record at Old Trafford. That’s 2 more points than we got last year. However, I would have wanted us to be braver. Saka, Martinelli and Madueke were too far back to effect any attacking play
Our record at Old Trafford is so bad that it makes one of my least favourite fixtures. The upside for this season is that we get it out of the way immediately.
I am hoping that luck evens out in our favour this season unlike last season.
Can’t wait for this afternoon’s match. I must say I am both excited and anxious for this season. We have a great side, capable of winning the big prizes. But I always have a nagging feeling that the season might not pan out as we as supporters wish. I will support the team throughout the season
A better season for Arsenal would be them being more competitive in the league with a credible title challenge. Also a better showing in the domestic cups is a must. A similar showing in the Champions League to this season or better.
The last 4 should really be on their way out. Surely they themselves are looking for a solution

I heard his interview on Sky Sports. I really can’t understand his reasoning. He dismissed injuries as being a factor last season stating that they’re just excuses. Jonathan Liew’s reasoning that this season is not necessarily the make or break given the squad’s age profile makes much more sense
Hope they don’t use the No More Red kit anymore. It’s outlasted its purpose and Arsenal haven’t been successful in it. Fingers crossed for this season’s white kit.
Six years away from the Champions League
Second season in a row in the competition that defines the biggest teams and careers, and reaching semis
If you don't see #Arsenal's progression is because you don't want to

Well, Donnaruma had 2 games of his life against us. The saves on Odegaard and Saka were simply outstanding.
Proud of the team today. Fine margins went against us again - the story of the season. Time now to lock champions league football again for next season. The transfer window has to be proactive and go and fill those gaps which we all know. I am confident that next season will be much better.
The first 30 minutes had me really worried. Arsenal were just chasing shadows and looked shell shocked after conceding. Credit to the players as they fought themselves back into the game. Scandalous decision on the Saka steal that was called up as a foul. That could have changed the game.
