The loco that started it all... Bachmann 66 Kernow Exc. Bought new at exhibition in 2016 for £75 as it was missing an outer sleeve. Only right that it has been updated with HM7000, megabase speaker and illuminated models lighting mods. Beginning to thin out my collection but this one won't be sold!

Tested out a new soldering iron by fitting the illuminated models lighting kit into an older Bachmann 66. Reasonably simple with a steady hand and a bit of magnification. What a difference it makes too! #TMRGUK

NEC National Festival of railway modelling today, bit of a trek up and back from the south coast in the rain but had a great time at the show. Promised myself I wouldn't buy any more locos this year but appear to have came home with a DMU on a technicality 😂

I went back onto X and tried to follow all the model railway people I used to and most haven't posted for several months! It's much nicer here :)

Brand new tooling sound fitted Bachmann 47 for £177. There are definitely model railway bargains out there to be had if you look around. This came from Model Railways Direct. Great service, ordered Friday, arrived Saturday!

They have form. I had to switch the motor wires on my early 73 so on DCC it ran in the same direction as the head light did!

HM7000 Bluetooth firmware update time. I'm now up to 4 of these sound decoders now. All using megabase or iPhone speakers from Roads & Rails.

Haul from the NEC NFMR today. Thought it was a great show and can only get better. Some noticeable absences but lots of smaller traders to make up for it. Weather not ideal but still worth the 2.5 hour drive up. I'd go again tomorrow if it was closer! #BSMRGUK

Managed to fix my NCE PowerCab by replacing the encoder. Hardest part was getting the failed one out. I shouldn't have doubted my soldering skills as it's working perfectly! #BSMRGUK
