Lettermatic โœ• GitHub Next: the inside story of Monaspace, a truly groundbreaking advancement for how we display code. We knew that Lettermatic would go deep, but we were still amazed by their level of knowledge and craft.

Automate repository tasks with GitHub Agentic Workflows Build automations using coding agents in GitHub Actions to handle triage, documentation, code quality, and more.

We're super jazzed to be launching GitHub Agentic Workflows into technical preview today!

"Generative AI" kind of fooled us into thinking that AI is synchronous, but async AI can have so much more value for us as developers. ๐Ÿงต

I have crappy vision. I bump up the text size on my phone to make it easier for me to see. Half of my apps have weird text overflow bugs as a result.

Thanks, I hate it

The only bit of hilarity in this entire story is that Netanyahu is clearly wearing a face that says "who is this guy with me right now? Something about AI? Take the fucking photo already"

6 months ago 1 0 0 0

I can't remember someone got publicly canceled like this with such zeal and vigor. Can you? Ever?

What was special this time.

6 months ago 0 0 2 0

Just skimmed the text of the replies and they're all variations of "OMG Guillermo in a photo with the most evil human on earth" (not even hyperbole).

Netanyahu is a piece of shit but not for the reasons most people think they ought to despise him. What's actually toxic is that he represents Israel

6 months ago 0 0 0 0

And โ€” perhaps this was the wrong thing to cancel him for. Instead of eliciting a shrug people were shocked, shocked, he was photographed with the devil.

Nobody canceled Tim Cook, who stood with Trump and gave a whole fucking speech from the Oval. Or any other business leader who pandered.

Anyone who doesn't want to use Vercel could have moved already. I'll believe "will it stick" when it comes to pass. ๐Ÿคท

Somehow, this image of Guillermo fawning over Netanyahu (like anyone hopeful of making a sale) ended up being the bogeyman thatโ€ฆ resonated.

the casual way with which people throw the term "genocide" around was insulting a year ago, now it is the standard tiresome reflexive reduction of this conflict.

Netanyahu is a piece of shit AND warfare is not genocide. May you and yours never know war.

Edit: I don't mean _you_ you. I'm tired and angry and sad. But the fact that this logic computes for anyone at all is gobsmacking.

6 months ago 0 0 1 0

Case in point
"just" Trump was, as you say, not enough.
But as soon as Israel is involved, very different story.

"Gives them permission?" You get that you're like "ah well see now that Israel is involved it's acceptable to be a bigot"

I'm out of this conversation, as it leads to nothing good.

I didn't see people cancel Vercel then, so it's not like people are applying some consistent set of values. Anything Israel related gets a special, separate yardstick, and I'm tired of watching it go by in my feed and biting my tongue, but I fell off the wagon by accident.

Bibi is an odious liar who would sell his own mother to keep his ass in his seat. Guillermo likes to fawn at people in power, including other odious people like Trump. So do I think it has special meaning that he posted a selfie with Netanyahu? No. It's a means to an end (fame) for him.

6 months ago 1 0 0 0

Whut? I genuinely don't follow. But you're right, I violated my rule of no politics on bsky, and should have known better

6 months ago 0 0 1 0

If you didn't think Vercel was icky for being a brofest but you think vercel is icky because Guillermo met Netanyahu, that says more about you buying into the fashion of hating on Israel because it's fashionable to be seen doing so.

I mean, from my perch within the org, big shrug. The challenges inside GitHub are very GitHub. The maladies within Microsoft are very different. I'll be worried when we start importing maladies from the mother ship. Otherwise, my primary source of cantankerous cursing is about having to use Azure
