Post from Latino pollster Mike Madrid:
“Doing some research for an upcoming article on the last “mass deportation” of Mexicans during the 1930’s.
Over half of those deported were US citizens.”
Indeed. When they rounded up the Japanese Americans, myself and my family included, for internment during WWII out of fear over Japanese spies and saboteurs, two thirds of us were U.S. citizens.
Don’t think it won’t happen again when they come for the “undocumented.”

Word of the Day is a true favourite, as some of you will know.
Apricity (17th century) is the warmth of the sun on a winter’s day.

It’s Airsoft time on Sunday yet again, but my 3D printer has nothing to do between now and then. Do any Airsofters here have suggestions of a useful airsoft-related 3D print?

I'm quite severely allergic to cats - I had a really bad asthma attack when I was 3 when one sat on me while I was sleeping - so I definitely avoid them whenever possible! I don't particularly dislike them though.

A rendered image of a pile of doughnuts on a plate. Some have round sprinkles, some have long sprinkles.
A week ago Blender terrified me. Today I finished my first render from scratch! BlenderGuru's guide on Youtube is excellent, so well paced and clear.
I can't wait to design more things in Blender, and hopefully print them out!

I've seen the same issue with the orange scooters in Newcastle. They're always blocking paths.

Absolutely! It’s safest to do it when you’re close to the upper bound of the grade. I’m sure there have been cases when grades have gone from a high B to a C, for example, so there’s always some risk.

Love it! I do some work in the digital health space to utilise technology to improve healthcare, so I’m always fascinated by this sort of thing!

I had no idea about that! I’m still mostly using RP2040s for my projects because they fit most requirements, but I need a real special project for the first RP2350s… I’ve done some Arduino Nano tinkering in the past but never got very far, mostly down to motivation!

I haven’t experimented with those! Perhaps after I get to grips with the RP2350!

I think that’s the case thankfully! My mum left us a few years ago after a long struggle with cancer, but my Dad regularly reaffirms his happiness about how me and my brother have done. I think it just goes to show that a disappointing results day doesn’t mean the world ends!

I don’t think I really appreciated at the time how much it was results day for my parents too. So many choices in bringing up a human, and it’s so personal when those results come out. I won’t say that my parents’ decisions were all perfect, but they definitely always had my best interests at heart!
