Yep, and You don't know that I would rank Vientos as an upgrade learning the position. If we can afford Soto we should just sign Pete and the Asstro guy.

Sure Bergman would be an upgrade overall, but would Vientos be an upgrade at first? I mean if we are going to trash talk Alonso, like many are - for no real reason, then we should also look at Soto's shaky field play as well. Right sides kinda looking bad, best hope those bats pop.

Reports are the #Mets are finally negotiating with Pete, here's hoping they can work that out. I'm not in the camp with everyone else that is suddenly ignoring what he's actually done with us since he came up. I'd like him back.

The delicious irony of Yankees fans being mad that a player signed "just for the money" like that wasn't their MO for decades. There are two teams in New York, a smaller-budget team just trying to make the most out of their resources, and then there's the New York Mets.

Agree with this as well. I'd like a mix of frontline and off year journeymen ideally. Let's be real, Soto could be a collision with the wall from being the most expensive mistake in baseball history. Doesn't mean we don't try for him (even though there isn't a soul on earth with that money)

Meh, I don't mind that type of signing as depth options. I just don't think they are the answer for Frontline rotation. Sure, we had success last year with this formula, but it relies on more than the average luck a team needs for even "known" starters to excel.

This is the potential problem with the Soto thing. I'd love to have Soto, but damned if I wouldn't like to have a "rest of the damn team". We win the World Series, I sincerely won't care who's on that team.
