All I want for my birthday is for everyone who sees this to buy #TheMangaBible or borrow it from their local library. If you buy it from an indie bookstore or bookshop.org that's even better because it shares the love even further.

Isao Takahata's epic transatlantic anime series 3000 Leagues in Search of Mother (aka Marco) started its run on Japanese TV 50 years ago today.

It's still relatively unknown in the English-speaking world, so I'm chuffed that I got to write a mini-essay on the series in our book Ghibliverse.

The Wallace and Gromit exhibition at the Harris Museum in Preston is brilliant and free and finishes on the 4th!

Although... expect a queue! We had to wait for an hour to get in but it was more than worth it to see these icons of animation up close - and in Nick Park's hometown, too.

Amazing stat on @ghibliotheque.bsky.social - that Julia Donaldson is the best selling English language author in the world, even if you include the wizard stuff.

Cheeky pre-Christmas episode!

If The Snowman defined an era of animated festive telly, the Donaldson-Scheffler adaptations have ruled the last 15 years.

So here's a nice little chat with Axel Scheffler to mark the *thirteenth* of his collabs with Julia Donaldson making the leap to the screen.
