4/5: He feels more like a proper character within the world of Runeterra with a distinct personality and role. One of my favorite elements is the tucked-beard because it could easily be recontextualized for his other/future skins into a fabric (Wisewood Zilean for example)...
3/5: There was a lot to love from both designs and so I found it best to combine some of their best choices. LoR had a humble-monk and loveable grandpa vibe while WR felt a lot more like a Shuriman champion when standing next to others within the region...
2/4: But the Wild Rift Design, while really fantastic, wasn't all that perfect. It's constrained to his current rig and animations in-game, so the design works around that. When you're making a custom rig and animations for a custom skin though, there are no real limitations...
When I initially started on my Zilean VU, it was entirely based on his LoR design as it was the only one that existed at the time. But then Wild Rift came out with a different approach and I felt the need to figure out how I would blend the two... 1/5

Took some time for me to get back to him in between other projects/freelance work, but we're getting his textures finished out in Substance Painter. I want to do some gray hair strand geometry and still have a few bakes left to do.

Recent patch pretty much demolished nearly all custom skins, including mine which causes them to appear fully white in texture. I will get around to having all of mine updated before the end of the month. I've been very busy lately 😅

Going for a bit more of a cinematic-style so there's going to be some subdivs applied. I do wanna remake his actual body mesh as the hands/face are a bit higher poly than I need. Currently on the hair which is going to take a hot minute
