Iteration and failure are your best friends.
Try multiple ways to do something until you find the way (or ways) that work for you. This means that you’re going to fail a lot, feel uncomfortable and cringy most of the time and question every day why you’re still doing this.

But there is no right or wrong.
This journey is absolutely personal. Every person has their own context, their own skills, their own values, and all that influences what you want to do and how you want to do it. They are all valid.

It's hard when progress is slow and I don’t have amazing footage from my game to show every week.
But I keep going despite feeling like my game sucks and fearing nobody will like it, because that is the only way I will finish it and get where I want to be.

There’s no real competition among indie game devs.
Something I find fascinating about the games industry is that we don’t really have to “compete” with each other. At the end of the day, we are making ART, and helping each other grow benefits us all.

We solo devs have to wear many hats, which is both terribly overwhelming and absolutely exciting.
I have many moments when I worry, thinking if what I’m doing will lead to anything good, but at the same time, I would not give up making my game for anything in the world!
