See you all at 1PM at Denny and Westlake!
The mayor is speaking promptly at 1:15!
What are you thinking about? Oh, just bus only lanes, like the one pictured here - focused on the street markings with some shadows from nearby street trees.

Arrive a little early if anything, we expect the program to start at 1:15 sharp

Yea it’s still wide enough for two lanes. Seems excessive
And now it’s closed again for cranes.
Thank you traffic cop for standing in the bus lane and stopping cars from driving in it!
Yeah that does not look like a very safe crossing
The Denny Way connection to I-5 S has reopened

WE want to Fix the L8 and we want YOU to Fix the L8 too!
If you’re involved with an organization or business along the route, our DMs are open! We want to hear from you about comments or concerns and are happy to present to your group
If you've gotten this far, check the date then send a letter to city and county councils to FIX THIS BUS!!
Phase 2 of this complete street multimodal project will also feature the Denny Way Promenade, a pedestrian path on 'Lower Denny Way' stretching from Capitol Hill to Lower Queen Anne under the viaduct. This community space will give South Lake Union an inviting front yard and space for events
a photoshopped map of the proposed rerouting of route 8. it would serve the same stops in SLU but not go along denny way, zig zagging through the neighborhood
Phase 2 will reroute the 8 to completely avoid conflicts with cars except a few areas still on 'lower Denny Way'. All stops in SLU will remain and bus lanes will be painted (except on Denny Way), a huge win for transit riders and without conflicts with cars, this bus will be a lot more reliable.
The Denny Viaduct will stretch from Capitol Hill to Puget Sound with interchanges at SR-99 and I-5.
We've been told that only a few more lanes are needed to 'erase traffic’. This will prevent cars from idling and help our climate goals.
Construction will begin this fall and last until 2045.
🧵Over the past few months, we've extended outreach to the area's commuters and come to an agreement to finally Fix Route 8.
Phase 1 will be a $500M viaduct over Denny Way in SLU to take cars off the road
Phase 2 will involve rerouting Route 8 to avoid conflicts with cars to speed up the bus.
❌ BROKE: Car Traffic
💖 WOKE: Bus Lane
🔥 BESPOKE: ROCKET LAUNCHER!
Yes!
🚨🚨 Attention Route 8 riders! 🚨🚨
Tomorrow, Light Rail will open between Seattle and Bellevue!! To better serve Judkins Park station, Route 8 will permanently change its route to stay on 23rd Ave!
The bus will stop right in front of the station and continue serving MLK way south of Massachusetts St
We signed onto this letter to build a more vibrant and transit oriented city.
We need to Fully Fund the Frequent Transit Network, identify hot spots for new bus lanes, and establish minimum standards for ALL bus lines.
There’s no excuse for why Route 8 got so slow. It should never happen again.
This bus is supposed to run every 15 minutes.
RapidRides are calculated slightly differently. It’s based on how much they adhere to the scheduled frequency bsky.app/profile/fixt...
That’s true. For regular buses, “late” is when they’re > 5 mins past schedule.
RapidRides use “headway adherence” so “late” is when a gap is greater than the scheduled headway plus 2-3 mins. (ex: every 8 mins for the 6-min G is “late”)
here's 3 of them in one picture 😅
They’re all best friends 🥰🥰
Most Frequent Bus in Seattle?
Or Least Reliable Bus in Seattle?

RapidRide is not a ‘cure’ to Speed and Reliability problems. Our RapidRides are still late and we need speed and reliability improvements systemwide.
