I really was playing Tales of Vesperia every day until I got to Gattuso and have not hopped on since. Hard filter

Can't stop thinking about those choices. Like a lot of Kiryu in 4 feels like building on his becoming a nurturer in 1 and 3, just on a smaller scale, and that's a choice I fw. Everything about that Saejima scene runs in the face of that, so strange
Thoughts on Y5? Haven't heard as much about it
Some important things 3 has that this doesn't is an amazing antagonist and actual meaningful progression of Kiryu's character. They had an opportunity at the first with either Arai or Suguichi, but neither really get the chance to live up to Mine, or even Nishiki. Also, Daigo is such a joke here.
Yakuza 4 is alright. A decent bit worse than Yakuza 3 from the perspective of both having great ideas, with only some being executed well. Some similar problems too, like this game has some insane pacing. You can really tell they were pressed for time at certain points of development, too. Hisai...
bsky.app/profile/vent... As per this post, I've had to go back and play more Tanimura so I can buff him up + learn him. Glad I did that, had a good time, but in turn it made Munakata go from batshit to very tedious 🤧
I couldn't believe they weren't done pulling that shit dude
Best part is I'm going to experience that all over again. Steamrolled everything in the finale until Tanimura's last fight and quickly remembered I barely played as him, one try was enough to make me reload the save 🥲
Rubber bullets my nigga like go fuck yourself
They're explaining the Part 3 cliffhanger like that? What!
So that's what rubber bullets were about
Imagine kicking back at the mahjong parlor after a long day of skipping school and you fucking hear Knight of the Wind come on the PA system
Finished Saejima's first chapter. The combat got really fluid the more upgrades I got, great setting, setpieces were cool. Genuinely blew anything Akiyama related out of the water.
Why have the Saejima and Haruka interaction be that? I get what they were trying to get across, but fuck you!!!!!!!!!!
Okay I finished Part 1 sometime last night: Akiyama kinda sucks but I don't think I hate him entirely. Loved his combat.
Everything about Saejima's intro was cool as hell, but his combat style might need some getting used to. Very interested in where this arc goes!
Probably doesn't help that his whole introduction feels off. Like the game has been so insistent he's fucking sick as hell, while his actions thus far aren't enough to match the hype. I don't know. I guess introducing a new guy is tough, but it's been rough going from Kiryu, esp Y3 Kiryu, to Akiyama
It'd be one thing if these tests of his were for free money, but they're for loans? No interest, but that doesn't make him a cool dude or anything
It'd also be one thing if the tests were always about morality or ability, but he's forced at least two women into hostess clubs/SW. I don't get it
Got endlessly mad at Yakuza Kiwami 3, so I decided to try Yakuza 4. I'm beginning to think I don't like Shun Akiyama very much
(Evelyn-James, age-regressed Nadine, more Josie x Truman (thus far), everything not to do with Ben Horne in that vortex bad. Civil War reenactor Ben Horne and Andy/Dick/Lucy devil child plot kind of good. Dale Cooper in hell and whatever the fuck is with the Major good)
I kinda forgot for a while that many people consider midway of S2 to be a lull, and I don't think I remembered that until I was just about to hit it
Having now watched more of that lull than there is left, I'm here to say I'm joining the war on Evelyn Marsh, and not on the side of Evelyn Marsh. Bad
I no longer think this oh my god this vegetative Leo side story is so boring, get back to the freaky possession plot!
I love watching Bobby bc every scene I start going "oh brother here goes this clown" and then at the end I'm going "he's just a bit troubled. hopefully he finds his way". Except like every interaction he has with James
Also wow I was going through S1 at a glacial pace before, and now I'm speedrunning. All because I remembered that I haven't been able to stop thinking about the Cooper dream sequence from like episode 2
Watching Twin Peaks for the first time. Ben Horne in S2E1 is the first ever recording of someone hitting the griddy
minneapolis, be aware - national right wing youtuber nick shirley is here. he was in loring park this afternoon sniffing around somali businesses. remember that he was at lake and bloomington, despite not living here, so he seems to get early information

Haven't played Clair Obscur but that's hype. I just pick winners (wanted Astro Bot to win last year)
