When a school can't get to the river... I bring the river to them! An early start kick sampling and cool boxing invertebrates from the Caul Bourne for children to study in their classroom this morning.

There's going to be an increased level of uncertainty forecasting the UK's weather during the next fortnight.
Why?
As well as Hurricane Gabrielle, there's a high likelihood of two more storms developing in the coming days.
Really enlivened after our first online East London Geography Hub session for a number of years. So many great ideas. Just lovely to be able to indulge in some geography chat! Watch this space for more info on next steps! 🌍
Our annual field trip brought the full range of British weather, but Year 10 showed real resilience! Students collected urban and coastal data in Norwich and Cromer, and even got a taste of university life with a campus tour of @uniofeastanglia.

A great day
This was a fantastic day, great fieldwork and great cross-phase collaboration across two very contrasting schools.

Really enjoyed exploring High Ongar with year 5. I found out a lot I didn’t know about the village. Excited to be going with the children to Spitalfields this week, along with yr 9 to collaborate & explore a contrasting urban landscape. #nationalfestivaloffieldwork
An excellent afternoon!
I have said it already and will say it again, big shout out to @theislandgeogr.bsky.social for all the great fieldwork resources on the website:

A great first day of urban fieldwork for our A Level Geographers in Manchester! Students have started gathering data for their NEA projects with real enthusiasm. Next stop: Salford Quays tomorrow—looking forward to more hands-on learning and urban exploration! 🌆🗺️

Lots of excellent fieldwork in Salford and Manchester today. Our geographers were investigating their own research topics including the plans for a new Manchester United stadium, inclusive urban redevelopment and the impact of culture on place making.
Up next: The Lake District 📷📷

2. We’ve explored Salford Quays & assessed the area for inclusive design, looked at the proposals for the new Manchester United stadium & looked at making great places. Also, some analysis of the way AI represents places. Thanks to @theislandgeogr for some excellent resources.

1. In 2024 the @geographicalassoc.bsky.social Conference was in Manchester. I loved exploring the city and went back to school suggesting it as a ln A Level fieldwork destination. 2025 and here we are! Doing some great NEA investigations. Lots of ideas coming from the students.
Best Free AI tool for generating images? Is there one I can feed photos into ask it to change them? Thanks
Here is a picture of our world in 1975 before satellites and currently with satellites😳
The annual TeachMeet at the @geographicalassoc.bsky.social conference has not disappointed! Fantastic ideas and so many ideas I want to try. Thanks to all the presenters.
Rounding off a great day at the @The_GA conference with the ever engaging @robbogeog.bsky.social and her Presidential Lecture, introduced by @geogmum.bsky.social
What a team! Really looking forward to hearing about connected geographies.

A great start to the annual @geographicalassoc.bsky.social conference. A lovely afternoon catching up with so many people. Well done to all those who won awards and thank you to @anjanakhatwa.bsky.social for telling us about the stories that the rock around us whisper. 🌎
My first Bluesky post and pleased to be using it to promote this session. Thanks to the @primarygeogeyppc.bsky.social for including us in the session. As usual it was full of useful ideas for all classrooms!
Super interesting to collaborate, research and write with the wonderful @denisefreeman.bsky.social! In this paper, we focus on the relationships between geography education and citizenship by considering children's rights in, and to, the city in London www.tandfonline.com/doi/epdf/10....
