If this works, then next year is Punch-Drunk Love and Resident Evil.

Many theatres do have a Discount Tuesday (we charge $6 instead of $9). It’s certainly a challenge to get studios to release those mid-budget movies that the industry used to live and die by.

Contagion is my number one Thanksgiving movie, but a close second is Kevin Smith’s Zack and Miri Make a Porno. It does take place throughout December, but starts on Thanksgiving weekend. One of the few movies which fairly accurately portrays Blackout Wednesday.

Of note, the aspect ratio of One Battle After Another for home viewing is 1.78:1, which is yet a 5th aspect ratio for the film, but in keeping with the idea of filling a screen which is any dimension between 1.50 and 1.90.

This goes to my theory that the best book on the comic rack is the Previews catalog. (That being said, the idea of Star Wars movie directed by Soderbergh is right up there with the idea of a Star Trek movie directed by QT. Elite-level unmade movie)

The Circle, all day every day

I love how excited people are about the NIN score for Tron. I love that they have their logo on the poster, etc. I think they should do that for all of their movies. Like, if I saw a NIN logo on the poster for After the Hunt, I would 100% see that movie on opening day in IAB.

Yeah, but at the same time, if you told me I could watch Mandalorian in a theater on a weekly basis, I’d do that in a heartbeat.

I think the criticisms of the Mandalorian and Grogu trailer are a bit unfair. It’s not that it looks like a TV show. It’s that it doesn’t look distinguishable from THE TV show. But that show has a very high production value and looks like a movie. Also, I’ll always root for Dave Klein.

I’m going to say I’m in the top 1% of Star Trek In2 Darkness fans, but since 2009, I’ve been saying that Naveen Andrews should’ve been cast as Khan in that movie. Listening to the Khan pod fills me with Khan-like rage that he wasn’t.

It is straight up insane to me that the original version of Star Trek TOS is not available on Paramount+ or even VOD. Even crazier that no one complains about it.

The world premiere for CLUELESS was held at Leo Carillo State Beach in Malibu on July 7, 1995 which is pretty solid as far as themed movie promo events go.
