For the first 10 years I lived in my The City, I was almost exclusively friends with other transplants. We were all from Somewhere Else, but friends here and now and it was awesome.

I can hold two thoughts at once:

Just this week I made the single largest donation to any one cause ever for helping my neighbors. I can thank my union for putting me in a financial place that I could give an amount of money with a comma in it, but like, there has to be a better way.
