We will be able to deploy repeatable, secure, and scalable infrastructure, making ongoing support more straightforward and reducing risk for our customers.
🔁 Repeatable.
🛡️ Aligned to best practices.
💼 Easier to manage and support.
AVM aligns with the Microsoft Well-Architected Framework (WAF), helping us ensure that our deployments follow best practices from the ground up. Want to learn more? Have a look here: azure.github.io/Azur... 🤓
The result?
These allow us to provision Azure resources not only quickly, but also consistently across all customer environments.
We’ve been leveraging Azure Verified Modules (AVM) to accelerate this effort.
🚀 Standardising Our Azure Deployments with Bicep & AVM 💪
As part of standardising our Azure support offering, my colleague and I have been working hard developing Bicep deployment templates.
We can now turnaround Azure managed support proposals very quickly with a standard process. This should improve our response to prospective clients and helps our sales process.
Today I have been improving some Azure standards that I have been meaning to do for weeks. I have standardised our Azure support offering, with an easy to understand pricing structure.
I love using PingCastle, but this script is just fantastic. If you have AD, run it and find out what you need to improve 😎

Today I helped a customer out with what looked like an Active Directory issue with authentications failing when users log into an in-house developed web app. But I completely blanked on what dcdiag and repadmin command I should use!

What else is more stressful than buying/moving house…? I’m not sure if I will make it to the end of Dry January at this rate with what is going wrong with our house purchase 😅, but I’m sure others have horror stories as well!
Looks like Teams participants can change their display name??!
Why not invest the £20–£40bn set aside for nuclear into home solar + batteries? Households could go self-sufficient, feed surplus back to the grid, and lower everyone’s bills. Thoughts? www.bbc.com/news/article...
Who else would buy this?! 🤩
New #ios18.2.1 feature just landed…
I'm starting the New Year with a renewal! This year, I'm planning on doing AZ-500 and then the CompTIA Linux+ certification as a starter for this year!
I have been taking some time off over Xmas with the family, and back to the world on the 2nd. Hope everyone has had a great break so far, and I hope you have managed to spend time with the people that you love…
So I have built a very simple GPT chat bot which I published to the GPT store. I wanted to have a quick way of having the required Azure WAF guidance to hand and it’s great to ask it some taxing questions. If you are interested, give it a try: chatgpt.com/g/g-676453f7...
Looks like Azure Charts is offline again 😭. Is there anyone at Microsoft that can give this guy some funding?! azurecharts.com
Been off work for past two days - high temperature / fever and a bad cough. Looks like Covid might be going around again. Apple Watch alerted me on Sunday morning after my sleep when it said my body temperature was higher than usual. Today its nearly 3 degrees higher than what it should be
iOS 18.2 has been released. Excited to see if Apple Intelligence has finally been enabled in the UK!
First post in a series around the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF). This post focuses on the first part, Strategy: remilner.co.uk/cloud...
Was chatting with a customer today and I mentioned that Server 2025 will have hotpatching for on-prem… BUT it will need Azure Arc and presumably Azure Update Manager, which will cost $5/server/month. Still seemed to be interested for some critical on-prem workloads. Anyone else looking at this?
Today we have been doing some good testing with replacing PRTG with Zabbix. However, I am still very much getting to grips with Nix which our engineer has used to automate the deploy and config.
Next year I may have to go to Ignite. I saved all the to my agenda planner, and I still haven’t had chance to watch any sessions. Taking a week out and having time to focus is key to be able to learn and grow.
Looks like #MSIgnite is heading to SF in 2025
