Invading Israeli forces in southern Lebanon have killed a man using a first-person view (FPV) drone in the besieged town of Bint Jbeil.
He appears to be wounded before the attack, which would violate the Geneva Convention. Israel says it ‘eliminated’ a Hezbollah fighter.

Two of the journalists assassinated in South Lebanon this morning by Israel were Lebanese correspondents Ali Shoeib and Fatima Ftouni.
They become the 252nd and 253rd journalists killed by Israel in the last two years.
Unprecedented.

Thanks a lot for contributing to the conversation. We look forward to learning about your research

As Ramadan comes to a close, I put together a reflection on the reality behind the month. It’s dedicated to those who worked tough, laborious jobs to provide for their families while fasting.
Read more about the meaning of Ramadan in the full article here.
surface temperature reading
It's hot out there! Tucson just broke our earliest 100°F on record today, previously set on April 11, 2025. Average first 100°F is supposed to be mid-May. Surface temperatures are much higher of course, this was a random reading of an asphalt road I took. #heatwave #azwx #extremeheat

I'll be testifying shortly before @epw.senate.gov to discuss how Trump's energy policies benefit Big Oil corporations and rich investors at the expense of our planet and our pocketbooks. I urge you to tune in. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlhK...
Kristi Noem has been referred by Congress to DOJ for Perjury investigation for lies she gave to the Senate & House on March 3 & 4.
One of the major lies was the role of Corey Lewandowski at DHS.
But unfortunately Bondi's DOJ won't investigate the Perjury.

My quote of the day
Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it's all over.

“Rep. Haley Steven has just introduced the No Getting Rich in Congress Act and it is absolutely brutal.
The bill would ban the President, Vice President, and members of Congress along with their families from buying stocks, cryptocurrency, commodities & futures.”
This is terrible!

✋ Former USG war crimes lawyer here.
Apropos of SecDef's remarks this morning:
Denial of quarter—even the declaration of no quarter—is a war crime.
And recognized as such by the US Government.
From DoD's Manual for Military Commissions.
Nobody in this Administration can agree on why they started this war or when it will end. The Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, and the President are all saying different things. Servicemembers’ lives are on the line, and they deserve better than this.
Eric Trump and Donald Trump, Jr. are acquiring a drone company that is seeking to meet Pentagon demand after Trump banned the use of Chinese drones.
We’re barely a week into Trump’s war and already his family has found a way to cash in.
Everything is for sale.
1️⃣ What explains electoral success in Mexico’s gubernatorial elections after the democratic transition? The key was not government performance, but the support of the incumbent governor. On average, candidates from the governor’s party were about 42% more likely to win. 🧵
DHS nominee Markwayne Mullin is one of the most active stock-traders in the Senate — and violated the STOCK Act against insider trading as recently as last August.
He currently holds stock in L3Harris, which has millions in contracts with ICE and FEMA.
The grift continues.
Kristi Noem is gone. Good, but it’s the bare minimum. Two American citizens killed by federal agents in Minneapolis. Court orders violated. FEMA gutted. Firing her doesn’t fix all of that, but it’s a start.

I just voted yes on the war powers resolution to rein in this President. Trump promised no new wars in the Middle East, and now we're in one with no plan and no end in sight.
A big part of the authoritarian playbook is war. War takes over the news. War blots out criticism. War divides a nation’s people, subjecting those against it to being called unpatriotic. War grants leaders all sorts of emergency powers. War consumes everything else.
We mustn’t let this war do so.
