Nah. I'm fine with it. The rest of my network stuff is blocked.
It was more of an annoyance at how much of the Internet is now just advertising. Since I haven't "seen" much of that for years it was a blatant shock how unusable many sites are because of this intrusive choice.

I didn't do many super creative things, but I got tired of all those places trying to steal your information just to build a QR code.
But last night I finally finished a little project and then got it published on GitHub and Docker Hub.
It ain't much, but it's sumpin'

Gaskets and grease make a world of difference for all things mechanical. Totally worth it in the long run.
Anyone ever had to do routine service on a KitchenAid mixer? Gross. Just finished a 2 hour ordeal and hopefully it's good for another 6 years or so.
However, my browsing experience using the Cloudflare DNS is less than stellar. The web (and apps) have gotten significantly worse over the last few years and I fear for its future.
My work computer uses Cloudflare Zero Trust (which is cool) but it doesn't block ads. I 100% understand the cyber security aspects here and am stringent about making sure it's on.
This is just another reason I use Pihole on all of my non-guest networks.
That's when I stopped counting. This just reinforces that Meta doesn't care about the user experience, they care about the corporate ad revenue. This is no surprise given the world today.
My wife spends a bunch of time on Instagram. (FYI: It's not my jam.)
Today I did an unscientific check. Here is my feed order:
• Legit post from someone I follow
• Ad
• People you may know (and win never follow)
• Ad to install "threads"
• Legit post

It's true.
At the request of my friend, here's another observation I made.
Sabrina Carpenter was on with the Muppets because it's easier to scale the characters together.
My favorite page was local hands who swapped a router and mixed up the "inside" and "outside" interfaces.
Thankfully, this was during the change window.
Unless you add in WAN accelerators, then that goes out the window.
Aside from me fat-fingering a configuration in a lab the only time I really saw actual network problems (that weren't on the MPLS from the primary or secondary WAN provider or Internet circuit) were hardware (fan) failures. Rare, but they did happen.
Even when it is the "network", it's never the network. Blame the server, TCP port exhaustion, (personal favorite) the database.
Repeat after me: it's never the network.
When in doubt, blame AWS: everyone would believe that.
Cats around some (Cisco?) network switches.
It's not "the network." It's never "the network."
Please stop bothering the network engineers. They are busy with their own priorities that you wouldn't understand.
Thinking about going back to the #Marvel and #DC well for this trip. Got any recommendations for good story arcs?
I just finished House/Powers of X and enjoyed it.
Any #comic nerds out there who can lend a hand? I've got a vacation coming up and I'd love recommendations for stuff to read. I normally take a few trade paperbacks to pass the time. I've been on the independents the last few trips (Something's Killing the Children, Manifest Destiny, etc.)
Today is going to be a good day. I can feel it. Better than that: I can feel it for you, too.

There's been so many since that time, but that one holds a special place in my heart... And stomach.
Over on threads someone just use ai;dr and we all need to adopt that right quick
I don't often get a chance to break out this meme, but it feels apropos.
This is one of the dudes that did background checks, right?
And anarchic views are ok when it comes to the bad apples. It causes us to rethink our framing and evolve our perspectives.
Your wife was right. You shouldn't have said anything. She can take pride in the fact that she tried.
There are ways to make a private server only accessible to you & anyone you designate to view your doorbell camera.
Also… you should probably get rid of that voice AI in your kitchen or living room, and just turn on the radio or a podcast / music streamer.
It's going to be one of those days:
• Solar ☀️ installation and the pups don't like people outside our house without them
• Repair crews are shutting down the water 💦 because of a possible leak on the main
• Rec Council ⚽🏈⚾ meeting tonight
• New work data 🧾 for analysis
• SOOO much barking... 🐕🐕
I've got two little dogs and there's some major rolls construction today. Despite the cold, they are in and out watching the progress.
My hypothesis is that any dog under 20 lbs is a human aged 5-7 years when it comes to construction vehicles.
Note: I have eminent respect for lawyers and those who are passionate about the law. My disdain for lawyers comes from the "ambulance chasers," "purely-for-profit," and "phone-it-in" lawyers.
I'm including "I used ChatGPT in my brief" in the "phone-it-in" grouping.
Glad to add levity in these dark times. If I can also poke light fun at the legal field, that's an added bonus.
My last thing is blanking the encryption keys within TPM since the hard drive will be Windows 10 with no Bitlocker.
Then I get to *really* start the work. These off-the-retail-shelf computers really load themselves up with unnecessary crap.
* Turns out my NMVe drive is flagged as "old" (too many IOs over its life.)
* Falling back to 2.5" SSD.
So far, I've used:
• dd for Windows
• GParted in Hyper-V
• qemu-img in Ubuntu WSL
• PowerShell w/ Hyper-V module
• gzip in Ubuntu WSL to squash the raw file for posterity.
