I am just so fucking suspicious of this man. Why was this posted on this account and not the official PM account? What PR & marketing team cooked this up?

Q: You don’t regret that people might’ve lost important income to support their lives?
A: No, I think it was more important to reduce the federal deficit.
Q: Ok. Did you reduce the federal deficit?
A: No, we didn’t.
Carney fans find themselves on the wrong side of all of this.
"Organizers unpack Carney’s agenda of rapid-fire austerity, militarism and fossil fuel extraction"

and trying to maximize the time I'm spending with online friends and my long-distance boyfriend because where I'm moving (for at least a few months) has bad internet so I don't know when I'll be able to hang out with them again. We hang out most nights of the week, so I'm really going to miss them.
The sheer time required to get up to speed as expediently as I'd like has made it basically impossible to ramp up my consumption of current events to previous levels while I'm packing up like 3/5 of a household, keeping that household clean and fed,
I'm kind of regretting taking a year and change off from [giga newscycle intake] because now I have a huge knowledge gap. Trying to get back into it while I'm heading towards a major move in a few weeks hasn't worked out because there's a lot of background on things I don't have.
Conspiracies really are a product of capitalist society. And class society in general.
The Bilderberg conference is just for ultra-wealthy, powerful people to drink together away from public eyes. They do all the things they always do otherwise: make powerful deals, govern the realms they control
Hey! How's it going?
I don't have notifications on so I apologize for not responding sooner.

Tuberculosis kills more people globally each year than any other disease.
There’s a tuberculosis outbreak at an Amazon warehouse in the UK.
Sick leave?
Respiratory protection?
Building ventilation?
State of workers T cells?
We *must* accept respiratory protection as part of our “new 💩 normal”.

They should invent a piece of news that isn’t completely fucking infuriating
I'm disappointed in the small bits I've heard lately about the direction the leaders of my country are taking it and have been taking it for years.
And I felt the need to shout into the void about it.
Thanks for being here, bluesky.
Canada Post doesn't need to be profitable. It's a necessary service that we all pay for.
Closing rural post offices will kill communities.
This is all about fucking over workers in the end. Killing rural jobs. Killing urban jobs.

Again for my MP, @anitavandenbeld.bsky.social, this was not a campaign issue and failure to recognize Canada Post as a PUBLIC SERVICE indicates that this government is fundamentally flawed.
Canada Post can't lose money it is a public service. In every situation like this I can't imagine a single thing that Pierre Poilievre would do different from Mark Carney
The only way to get anything to Nunavut where my daughter lives is via Canada Post. I once went to UPS..they took my parcel and for a tremendous amount of money said could get to Iqaluit - turned out they mailed it via Canada Post.

The ONLY reason I used Canada Post was for home delivery. This feels like putting the nail in the coffin and talk about complete hatred and distegard for disabled people

Reminder that all the talk about Canada Post being "insolvent" is bullshit. They are running it purposefully to make it seem that way. They spent $3billion on massive infrastructure against unions wishes. They own their own primary competitor, Purolator, that they funnel business to. It's anti-union
They should also cut executive bonuses at Canada Post.
the business brained freaks in the Liberal party don’t understand that Canada Post is a SERVICE and if there are “losses” the answer is to close the funding gap in order to sustainably provide that service. Or, they’re pretending to not understand so they can kill CP on purpose
Canada Post mail delivery is literally the thing that makes this a country
"This situation is unsustainable. Canada Post is effectively insolvent, and repeated bailouts are not a long-term solution." Lightbound added.
This is the most neoliberal BS. It's a crown corp & a public service. It's not a bailout, it's funding a basic function of a sovereign country.
"Canada Post can also close some rural mailboxes."
~~~
That is not how you win over rural voters - a constituency that already feels alienated.
And what are rural people supposed to do once that happens? How far will we have to travel to get our mail?
It isn't "losing 1.5B dollars a year", it's a service, that's what it costs you MBA brained fuckers. It's not a for profit enterprise.
screenshot from the article: "Canada Post is now facing an existential crisis," Government Transformation, Public Works and Procurement Minister Joël Lightbound said in a statement on Thursday. "Since 2018, the corporation has accumulated more than $5 billion in losses. In 2024 alone, it lost over $1 billion, and in 2025, it is already on track to lose close to $1.5 billion."
genuinely, who cares? public services aren't businesses. it provides services that should be accessible to the entire population. it should not be expected to make that profitable.
Having this happen at the same time as labour action AT Canada Post feels monstrous, but we've seen what Federal Liberals think of workers for years now
