The problem with most machine-based random number generators is that they’re not TRULY random, so if you need genuine randomness it is sometimes necessary to link your code to an external random process like a physical noise source or the current rate of US tariffs on a given country.

I'm slow, but I got there! Just trying to find the time to have some fun!

At that point the playoff committee can seed the 12 teams and the best four teams from the conference seeding that win can still get the byes. In effect we’ve extended the playoffs to 24 teams, removed some of the drama and reduced the subjective influences. 4/4

For example say the Big 10 gets four playoff spots. They seed the top 8 teams in the league and then 8 plays at 1, 7 at 2 etc. The four winners of each game then advance to the playoff proper. If the Big 12 gets two bids then they’ll play 4 vs 1 etc. 3/4

What I propose is we allocate spots to each conference at the beginning of the season based off of past performance much like the European Champions league. The during championship weekend each conference seeds their own league and the top teams play for their playoff bids. 2/4

So I’ve not been impressed with how the first year of the #CFB playoff is going and deciding how to handle the at large bids. All this debate about how to allocate how many bids to each conference and who gets in has started to feel like an exercise in comparing apples to oranges. 1/4
