My latest is a reflection on the cycle of dread, disaster, and temporary reprieves weโre all navigating, what that cycle is doing to us, and how we can avoid losing ourselves to it.
This edition also includes a roundup of must-read pieces that have helped me think about this moment.

A starfield filled with thousands of stars and shining clouds of dust. The Milky Way\u2019s elegant spiral structure is dominated by just two arms wrapping off the ends of a central bar of stars. Spanning more than 100,000 light-years, Earth is located along one of the galaxy\u2019s spiral arms, about halfway from the center. Credit: NASA
OH. MY. GOD.
THIS IS THE MILKY WAY SHOT BY THE ARTEMIS II CREW. LOOK AT ALL THOSE STARS!!!!
Thank you ๐ซ I don't want to, I just think it would be easier sometimes if I were an automaton, or at least bland and conventional. Unfortunately (and fortunately) I am not, and I will just have to deal with that
(Don't take this too seriously; I've spent my evening getting my shit kicked in by family members and feel a bit like an abject failure atm, but it will pass)
Sometimes I wonder if I could just... quit making art. Why have feelings, why express them, when they're an inconvenience to those around you. Why do I dare to think I have anything unique to offer anyone. That's the sort of feeling it is.
Yes, the curricula on offer at my high school were "good," as in so difficult that college was a breeze by comparison, but more importantly: I felt safe and supported there in a way I wasn't anywhere else, and as someone who was marginalised on multiple fronts, this was invaluable to my development.
This is also an acceptable answer and is going on my Tinder profile, thank you
It sucks to hear the horror stories people have about their teachers. My teachers seemed happy compared to what I hear about teachers now; most of them had been there for a decade or more; and you could feel how comfortable they were with students and wanted us to succeed.
And I consider that in and of itself to be a privilege. To attend an institution where the teachers aren't just trying to pass everyone, where you're encouraged to pursue what interests you, where you're allowed choices about electives and to leave the school building to get lunch...
I've only ever attended public schools, but they were damn good public schools
A friend once told me I have "the vibes of a rich kid without the attitude" (by which he meant I "don't look down on others") and I'm like. I sure hope that's true LOL
Well, the last two months have been brutal, and yesterday I had the worst day of 2026 so far, but hopefully we're on the up and up in Aprilโโ
Oh man, I grew up with these CDs. Nostalgic...
To have something to work toward, to build the community I always wanted... yes, to have friends and purpose!! There are unluckier men than I
Can't stress enough how much projects are keeping me sane in the current Interesting Times we live in @ _ @ )

My dad probably eats brie and sourdough grilled cheese more than pandesal with cheese at this point. Which is less a reflection of his preferences than it is the fact that you can buy brie and sourdough in bulk and make three times the number of sandwiches (which are also larger) for the same price
very excited for this to be out in the world: i wrote about repressed queerness in Elio, child surveillance in Inside Out 2, the post-Lasseter crisis, and the figure of the child in Pixar for The Baffler
