Adding footage to an old movie and insisting that watching this new version is "critical" for enjoying the next one is almost a parody of why I, and a lot of people, fell off the MCU post-Endgame. It became homework!

The two possible explanations for saying adding new footage to Endgame is "critical" for Doomsday:
1. it's true, which means you made a shitty sequel that can't stand on its own
2. it's a lie, a cheap and transparent ploy to scam people buying tickets to a movie they've already seen.

I was pretty 50/50 on whether I'm invested enough in Marvel anymore to see the new one, but them saying "we had to add a bunch of footage to a seven-year-old movie that is 'critical' to making this one work" is a pretty massive weight on the "no thanks" side of the scale.
