Best recent spy thrillers? Anything this decade with good action scenes. Something more James Bond than John le Carré. I loved all the Daniel Craig Bond movies. Day of the Jackal is the best I've seen recently. Citadel was so bad I finally cancelled Prime.

"That kind of sacrifice creates a debt, and there’s nothing magic likes better than the great hollow of a debt. And so magic nestled here, heedless of what the adherents of this particular religion would think of it."

Time to ask the Christians in your life what they're doing to oppose the hate against immigrants and queer folks coming from the president. If they support his policies they aren't Christian, and it's probably worth asking them why they claim to be. time.com/7209222/bish...

Does great pizza exist in Boston? Every time I visit NYC I have one slice of pizza that's better than anything I've had at home, and I don't understand why.

All I want is to live in a world with Victorian Era fashion and etiquette, but 2020s progressive social values. And instead we're getting a world with Victorian Era social values and 2020s etiquette.
I try to live my life in such a way that whenever I die, random strangers on the internet won't celebrate the world becoming a better place because my actions are no longer harming them.

What's a phrase like "my eyes were bigger than my stomach" but it's about getting too many books out of the library, instead of putting too much food on your plate?
I'm getting really into Day of the Jackal. If you've ever thought "it's weird that James Bond often has to seduce women in the line of duty, but has never had to seduce a man" this show is for you.
Have TV shows been getting more depressing? I tried The Penguin and Cross, and gave up on both after one episode. They're just unpleasant to watch. Although I really like The Day of the Jackal. It feels like the violence follows logically from character actions, and isn't over the top.
Good news, but it's disgraceful that the US is refusing to help enforce this.

I'm sure Bill Barr and Reagan's AG were worse, but Garland's complete failure to prosecute the terrorists responsible for the Jan 6th attack shows we have a different law for the rich. And it means we're stuck with an incoming president who should be in jail
