I went to the pharmacy today and filled 2 scripts for women's health medication. A year ago it would have cost over $200. Today it cost $50. Why? Because they were added to the PBS last year, and the PBS co-payment has gone down to $25. I will save $839 a year.
Socialised medicine is amazing.

The US Administration has banned Americans from *adopting babies* from much of the African continent.
Adopting.
Babies.
What trait do those babies have that, when they grow up as fully American adults, would make them a threat to our country in any form?
We saw hope in the incredible helpers amongst the horror of Bondi last night but we need hope today.
And we need to work at all ages and all parts of society to drive out hate.
Always look for the helpers, said Fred Rogers, because where there are helpers there is hope.
We need hope today. And we need clear action to drive out hate. Bondi 💔
Australia has recorded a full year with no new cases of cervical cancer in under-25s, the group most at risk of aggressive types of the cancer-causing human papillomavirus infection.
And the reason is ... [drum roll] ... HPV #vaccination! #vaccineswork

I think we need to stop obsessing over the mushroom murders and turn our attention to the NT coroner’s inquest report into the police shooting and death of Kumanjayi Walker by policeman Zach Rolfe
Powerful piece. “The men now working to rehabilitate Heydon – many..the same ones who once drank in his chambers – never saw his predation. They weren’t his targets. His charm & wit never came with a proposition. That behaviour was reserved for young women like me.” www.theage.com.au/national/i-w...
Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

He is pretty canny old man, with a bundle of anxieties and an associated need to be on or next to one of his humans whenever possible. But we love him.
When our doofus had a similarly placed lump removed he worked out at the park that he could scoop bark chips up into the cone, tip his head upwards so the bark chips fell around his neck and chin and then shake the bark chips around to scratch the itch. It was both hilarious and ridiculous.
We also avoided it until this year, and I tested positive about 36 hours days after kiddo did.

Autumn.
I have been very productive on everything except the thing that REALLY needs to be done today.

A perfect day for celebrating the strength of our democracy. Barely had to queue, helpful independent election officials, and enjoying a democracy sausage and baked goods in the sunshine knowing the funds go directly to our local primary school. #AusVotes
