This all reminds me of back when I was a kid... we'd holler 'Shotgun' to lay claim to riding in the front seat. Of course, there was usually a big fight about it and we'd both get whupped and have to ride in the back to boot.

A species of Seviceberry (Amelanchier) grows in every U.S. state except Hawaii, all Canadian Territories and a couple of species in Europe and Asia. Native Americans used it for arrows and bows... and one tribe used it for body armor. And the trees are small... but gorgeous.

'Tyto' ~ aka 'Owl Girl' was carved from a 4" x 4" post of Cumala wood. Stands about 5' tall without the ebonized base.

I like this concept and might try it again as a 'bust' at some point. This one was too lanky and tall.

I had a great cat back in the day that was very cool.. but always getting into danger. Got picked up by a horned owl, fell off a 3 story bldg. while he had 13 stitches in his back. Ended up getting shot out in the woods.
