Pistol permit and Stop the Bleed class this weekend. Register: crossdrawfirearms.square.site
We haven't been posting lately because the waitlist for training remains long, but we ARE still running classes. If you want to be added to the list so you can get a spot in a future class, contact us via crossdrawfirearms.square.site
We can also run Stop the Bleed as a standalone lesson.
Every time I think about skipping a run, I remember that even though they appear to suck at it and basically stumble up hill sprints, I have seen the cops in my town out running more than once, and I'll be damned if they get faster than me.
I've been bedridden this past week with a nasty virus, but I still plan to run this weekend, and you can help me support IRIS, whose work supporting immigrants and refugees is more important than ever: runsignup.com/jaelee
Your donation does more to protect your vulnerable neighbors than a thousand smug takedowns
If you're posting about how "I guess the right doesn't believe in the 2a anymore huh" please donate to our training fund. Natural rights don't exist: you must bear arms such that they cannot be taken, alongside your allies. crossdrawfirearms.square.site/product/spon...
Demand for training exceeds our current capacity, so I'll be certifying new instructors soon. There is real fear and exhaustion in the immigrant community, and I'm forced to admit, it affects me too, so it's time to enlist more aid.
A gasoline/diesel flamethrower clears your soul moreso than your driveway. It is fairly effective at removing that last bit of stubborn ice after shoveling, however.
Training with friends is so important! Also, buying your first gun, especially a rifle, can be an overwhelming experience and it helps to do it with someone who can guide you through the myriad choices to be made (brands, accessories, optics, barrel length, ammo selection, etc).
Our firearms training classes include Stop the Bleed at no additional cost. Your enemies are (ostensibly) trained to kill you. You should train to not die.
I've always assumed that if I needed an NPA, I would be in no condition to use it myself, but it could be helpful for someone who is using my kit and knows how to insert it.
1: Take a hands-on class, even if you don't legally have to.
2: Get snap caps (dummy rounds) and practice dry fire
3: Be mindful of militia laws, but contextualize firearms in a community context. Get to know like minded gun owners and discuss how you're all handling the realities of carrying.
For those not in the know: IFAK= Individual First Aid Kit; a severe bleeding control kit. At its most basic: a tourniquet (CAT or SOF are my recommended), chest seals and gauze. A compression bandage, scissors, NPA, and chest decompression needles are nice add-ons.
If you choose to carry a gun, you must know in advance when and how you will employ it. Your enemies certainly know when they'll use theirs.
If you're snowed in today, use the time to practice your dry fire. Most defensive shootings happen at <20 feet: if your enemies are that close, you need to be <1 second to your first shot and dry fire is the best way to improve draw speed.
ICE agents have to run at a 9:36 min/mi pace. 8:40 for Border Patrol. Support this organization that does incredible work supporting immigrants and refugees, and I'll do my best to run my immigrant ass under 7:00 min/mi.

I'm taking the day off partially in solidarity with the Twin Cities, and partially as a mental health day. To use the day well, I'll be making a huge batch of fresh soup for the community fridges. Please help support our efforts to feed our community:

Our February class is fully booked. My associate at nutmegfirearmstraining.org has a class the following weekend, running the same curriculum. We're 3 weeks into 2026. How do you think things will look 5 more weeks from now? Plan accordingly.
If you want to take a break from doomscrolling, might I suggest picking up copies of The Dual State, and Ordinary Men? You'll still be reading about doom that's very similar to what's happening, but at least you'll get that new book smell.
Every time you see someone smugly post about "2A" people not showing up to defeat tyranny or whatever, do 5 minutes of dry fire practice. Guns are tools in the service of ideology: yours and theirs. You have to be better than your enemies.
One spot remaining for our Feb 22 pistol permit and Stop the Bleed class. Maybe your enemies will never come for you. Maybe you'll be safe. Maybe. crossdrawfirearms.square.site/product/febr...
Most of us do not have the budget for NVGs, but a good WML is a fraction of the cost. MLK Jr understood that the poor and working classes would have to lead the way. Only light.
Our next pistol permit class is open for registration. It is Feb 22, and includes Stop the Bleed.

You may be willing to accept great risk to yourself, but you have a responsibility to reduce that risk for others, and discuss it with your loved ones.
Plan to cover final expenses even if your life insurance doesn't pay out because you were killed "committing a crime." Make sure someone knows how to care for your children and pets. Leave a list of lawyers to call, bank accounts to manage, bills to pay, etc in case you're unable.
Advice about what to do if ICE stops you assumes they're operating in good faith. But you should also plan for what happens if they just disappear, cripple or kill you. Fill out a contingent POA, update your will and advance directives. Create an emergency plan and review it with family.
Our next CT pistol permit class will be open for registration this weekend. It will include Stop the Bleed and is a single-day event. If you are an immigrant or BIPOC, you may take this class either at cost or free. Email me for the pricing code before you register.
I'm running for refugees and immigrants like me. It's ok to be angry, it's ok to be afraid because of what's happening, but it's not ok to stand by and do nothing. IRIS does vital work for immigrants; donate to make my miles count. In return, I'll run sub 20 for you
