In July of 2022, I met Connor. We were a couple of strangers playing several D&D campaigns with a group of other strangers online. It was an awesome group, and many of them had some incredible role-playing skills compared to groups I had previously DM’d for. At the time, I was going through some struggles at home, and in the midst of a breakdown, Connor called me for the first time. He wanted to make sure I was okay, and he stayed to help me through it. It was kind of like a knight coming to my rescue, yet I barely knew him. He and I wound up talking after that, and kept playing D&D twice (sometimes three times) a week. We connected over our passions for TTRPGs and creating stories & characters. It was a bit fast, but it started to feel like more than just a strong friendship. We both knew there was something more. Now here we are, two years later. Connor and Rosemary, a couple of lovebirds who've only gotten the chance to visit once (back in September for my birthday). *I fell in love a second time when I actually got to see him*, and he feels the same. 💖 The good news is: We're finally able to move! We'll be doing the actual moving from Feb 25 - Mar 15. He's flying in to LA to help with the packing. My roommates are going to help with the 22 hour drive, and then they'll fly back home. The bad news is: It's across the country. We've been saving for quite some time, and while we're getting close to our funding goal, some other problems are creeping up. He had to have surgery for a surprise medical issue (he is fine, this was preventative and his recovery is going well). His disability check doesn't come in until later. The post-Christmas weeks in the Retail world surprised me with cut hours (from 40 to 20 hours a week). And of course, I will most likely need new tires before driving all the way up north. Plus, hotels aren’t cheap, and we’ll need at least one night (maybe two). Bills bills bills. (continued)

Needless to say, the budget is looking really tight, and I’m worried that we won’t have enough by the time our moving date comes around. Ideally, we need about $2500 to cover the rest of our expenses. Right now, I have about $1700 available between savings and a couple of credit cards. That leaves an $800 gap, and I’ve only got a couple small paychecks incoming until then. I also don’t want to rely on credit cards unless necessary.
