Back in the old social media days the world would've been flooded with #minnedemo tweets tonight. Looks like what conversation there is, is happening here? What a great organization serving the Twin Cities all these years!

If the only thing that brings me back here to Bluesky is to ask around for a Sora invite code, that probably means I don't deserve one? :)

I always took that line (the whole song, really) as sarcastic shots at colonial arrogance rather than sincere superiority - like, sung with a nudge and a wink of "better them than us, right?" to make the listener think? Like Bruce Hornsby's "That's Just The Way It Is"...? (I'm probably wrong.)

I've been told I don't post here, which is true. Trying to figure out where I can find the magic that was Twitter circa 2007/2008. :)

I blinked and 10 days went by here. I guess now I understand how my colleagues who didn't check Twitter every few hours were able to do it.

My daughter works at a noodle-themed fast-casual chain and mentioned yesterday that they just got some sriracha packets back in stock (for the first time in weeks), they keep them behind the counter, and are carefully rationing them. (I had no idea a shortage had returned!)

Every time I get on a new social media platform now I wonder what kind of profound thing I should say to kick things off... and I wonder how dead the community will be. (For all its promise, I'm getting almost no engagement on Threads. But I guess engagement ebbs and flows everywhere.)
