One time I'd completed the objectives for the contract, but I needed to successfully exfil for it to be marked as complete - I got downed by an NPC and was waiting for the exfil to trigger in time before I bled out. Right before exfil another player from 100 metres away sniped me just so I couldn't.

Hard to enjoy it when you can't progress a story beat over four hours of gameplay because you kept dying to other players who don't listen when you say "hey I'm friendly just trying to get this contract done!"

I think next time I play Marathon I might need to just do some Rook runs or switch up my contracts to do some easy exfils, I just lost another 5 runs in a row (so now 20 runs without successful exfil for this contract) and it's really not endearing me to the game. I was loving it last week but damn.

Honestly I think the most demoralising thing is it taking 5 minutes to matchmake - if it were quick to load back in it’d feel less insulting

That's fair haha! I love the game, just have had a really bad string of trying to get a contract done and just getting obliterated every time! I'm only using sponsored kits at the moment...

Yeah same here in OCE. Last couple of times I played it was pretty egregious, loading into anything took 3-5 minutes. Maybe it's relying too heavily on the SBMM and takes too long trying to find equally skilled players? Not sure. Definitely a bummer when you then die 2 mins in.
