After a busy start to the year, I have a new lecture to share. Generalist models have been making good progress, but #sim2real just works. In this lecture, I explain domain randomization, simulation limitations, and connections to generalization.

The new foundation model from physical intelligence - pi-0.5 - works zero-shot in multiple homes. They tested at airbnbs around san fransisco. I also really love the robot design.

Ideally, when I unbox a new robot, I just want to teach it the way I would my kid, by giving it a couple demonstrations -- not by teleop, not by endless prompt engineering. So, how can we use human videos to teach robots how to perform tasks in new environments?

Honestly, no one should have to do this. Isn't this what robots and machines are for?

Really a failure of imagination by simpletons in the white house.

One thing I think a lot of tech enthusiasts will need to accept is that the idea of having separate CPU and RAM for small form factors is a thing of the past.

The benefits of bundling them are really outweighing having them separate.

I def see what he means. Lots of robotics researchers I talk to don't really "believe" the results coming from visomotor policies.
