I've never had that concern. When I enter a bathroom I hope that there's not a long line and that there's toilet paper and that whoever used it before flushed/didn't get stuff on the seat.

A stockpot containing a blended broccoli and potato soup. It also contains onion and carrots, chicken stock and Creole seasoning.
Got about seven servings out of it. A serving each for dinner and five single serves in containers that got put in the freezer.

I made it through my first day back at work today after 2+ weeks off on leave for my foot pain. I made it through the day without rage or tears and minimal me swearing under my breath.
Also yesterday I made a big pot of broccoli and potato soup. Froze some and took a few in today for work pals.

Once I got home and ate dinner I ended up sleeping for a few hours. Felt a lot better for it.

First day back at work after my medical leave. It was exhausting and my foot felt pretty sore by the end of my shift.
But it was nice to see workmates.

Doing a big clean up and clear out of my bookshelves because they're chaotic and very hard to find things on. Also I've got books on there from many many years ago that I can't remember why I got them.

Growing food from kitchen scraps : Kat's Garden You don't need to buy seeds to start growing food. Your weekly grocery shop is full of ways to get your garden pumping.

On the blog this week I've dusted off an oldie-but-a-goodie and given it a re-vamp 🌱

Originally written during the 2020 lockdowns, but now perfect for any apocalypse this decade might throw at us.

If you're looking to get some food growing with minimal investment, this one is for you.

@oliviawrites.bsky.social So I just finished reading Second Chance Romance and this book both made me feel mushy & laugh out loud. I adored Karl in At First Spite and I absolutely adore him in this. And I love Molly too.
And that cover.. swoon city!

I also started listening to the audiobook of Dealing with a Desperate Demon by Charlotte Stein. I was waiting in line for a long time yesterday so I popped on an sudiobook to keep me entertained.

Went to Enamoured Books today for their one year birthday celebration. Was one of the first 50 customers so got a goodie bag (which had a book that I'd put a hold on at the library already). Bought a book and earrings.
But best of all was I made a new friend waiting in line!

Oh shit I just realised I haven't taken my evening meds either (the ones I usually take with dinner. There's also one I take about a hour before bed)
Thanks for the reminder!

Kat's Nip: New Zealand's Dankest Catnip and Cat Toys Kat's Nip is Aotearoa New Zealand's premium catnip. Grown fresh and harvested by hand, Kat's Nip is the dankest 'nip available for your feline pal.

So, our cat came home on Easter Saturday with holes in her. We had to pay after-hours rates to get her fixed up. You might remember this is not our first major vet bill for 2026. It stings.

So Kat's Nip is on sale for the rest of the month. 10% off until May 3 with code GETWELLSOON.

I recently did a collaboration with the Department of Conservation to develop a line of merch for their iconic visitor centres at Tongariro and Aoraki National Parks...

The Aoraki designs aren't public yet, but I can share the Tongariro designs which are now available for purchase on location.

Thank you, I'm hoping so too.
I don't drive and live right in the central city so my feet are my primary mode of getting around.
