I, for one, would enjoy a government which is not quite so repugnant.

We choose to go to the moon, not because it is easy but because you've seen the other shit this country spends tax money on. At least going to the moon is cool.

A set of screenshots from DEEP SPACE NINE. An old Klingon throws his arms around Dax and shouts "Curzon, my beloved old friend!"

Dax returns the hug and says "I'm Jadzia now."

The Klingon grabs her shoulders, smiles, and says "Jadzia, my beloved old friend!"

Star Trek figured this out thirty years ago. It's not hard. Even an old, drunk Klingon got it.

just became aware of this--the regime wants to clear-cut massive chunks of Oregon's old growth forests in the name of timber production.

you have until March 23rd to comment.

i know we have endless fucking things to scream at politicians about--this is an important one too.

They've been so deviously good about this sort of thing for so long that I almost feel bad drawing attention to it. It feels like the guerilla cable TV hacking of the '70s and '80s

The NY Times dutifully reporting that the Supreme Court sided with Trump only 42% of the time and with Biden 54% of the time sort of leaves out the necessary context that Biden was doing normal, completely legal presidential stuff, and Trump was doing insane crimes

If you are wondering what words the all-male Congress found so "blasphemous" that they felt compelled to literally scrape them off the monument, they were: ''Woman, first denied a soul, then called mindless, now arisen, declared herself an entity to be reckoned.''

Yeah, two channel 50 MHz. For $59 on alibaba I’m guessing it won’t be too useful above 25 MHz. But I’m just using it with old 8-bit computers where the fastest signal you typically encounter is 14 MHz (4 times NTSC color burst) in the video output hardware.

I’m guessing they got tired of shipping out replacement fuses and the sticker was cheaper than including spares in the box.

LOL I was amused by this yellow sticker. I guess they had too many clueless customers complaining about their new toys breaking.

In magic (as in software) true names have power, and getting a demon's name wrong can be deadly—or it was, before Gandalf the GUID assigned them all unique 128-bit identifiers.

reminds me of a friend who explained why recent years have felt so weird to so many millennials here and it’s because “we went into the pandemic young people and came out of it old”

It’s really difficult & disorienting but the feds hit LA extremely hard today. There were kidnappings all over & reported cluster raids in Chinatown, East LA, Ktown. This list shows to 1130 AM but they haven’t stopped all day

Just because the media attention stopped doesn’t mean the abductions have

I know all eyes are on Minneapolis, but there's a fast-approaching nightmare in Springfield, Ohio.

Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3.

Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.

Trump has decided to exempt coal used in steelmaking from Clean Air Act rules for the next two years. He issued a proclamation allowing coke oven facilities to sidestep existing limits on toxic emissions including mercury, formaldehyde, soot, and dioxins.

Yes your taxes should support disabled people.

They should support homeless people.

They should support those living in poverty, children and the elderly.

This is literally the purpose of taxes, and I would far rather support those who need it than continue to enrich the elite.
