It was one group with about a thousand members, as I understand it from Snopes. And that IS bad enough. It reminds me of how I felt when I read about that website forum that encourages young killers to "makes their mark." Horrifying.
Men have a much harder time bringing this up than women. I got away with it (largely) because of that.

It's definitely horrific and real. What happened to Dominique Pelicot is certainly happening to women, and what @sarahweinman.com pointed out about the law is 100% still the case. If even one woman suffers and she can't even get legal help, it's unacceptable.

Exactly. I've actually had people unfriend me over on FB for posting about the Snopes findings on this piece.
It's a repulsive statistic if one thinks porn in general is immoral because that was the total number of website hits not hits to the Zzz room. I've been trying to get this across as a web professional going by the Snopes investigation.
The controversy is not just on TikTok. I've brought this up on Facebook, too. People lose their minds when you ask them to think critically about a new story. Media literacy is at an all-time low, and almost no one is willing to rethink what they previously thought.
