My biggest advice tho is have hard rules for yourself about when to answer students and parents by email. Like a nightly curfew and a weekend moratorium. Esp in a small school it can get unmanageable if parents expect you to answer ‘urgent’ emails at 9 pm on Sunday.

I have taught college, but not currently. Making the leap is fascinating: in my experience younger students can do many of the exact same things undergrads can do but they need more guidance on steps and more time to finish.
