SCOOP: Two weeks ago, the head of the CDC delayed publication of a report showing covid vaccine cut likelihood of ER visits and hospitalizations by half. Now that report is no longer allowed to be published in CDC’s flagship scientific journal. My latest. 1/2

New Scientist: 'Exercise advice for long covid may be doing more harm than good'
'Exercise has been touted as a tool for managing and treating long covid, but much of the evidence has neglected one of its most debilitating symptoms: post-exertional malaise'

Honestly, with all of the blatant market manipulation that has been going on since the start of this war, there should be UV lights pointed up the asses of every trump regime flunky.

Fifteen minutes before the President announced he was pausing strikes on Iran, somebody moved $500 million in oil futures. Somebody knew. Somebody told them. Or somebody is them.

The man who introduced obligatory vaccinations to the US Army was George Washington.
Making consumers pay the tariffs and refunding it to the businesses is not cool.
Trump claimed "Operation Metro Surge" targeted the "worst of the worst." In reality, ICE ripped 70 kids away from their families, friends, and schools.
Our children deserve justice and accountability. That starts with abolishing ICE.

Star voting or ranked choice, imo
America has a lot of bad electoral systems in use, but the top-two “primary” is exceptionally terrible.
Proportional representation would solve so many problems with American elections
The top-two primary needs to be abolished. Every election cycle it leads to races where one party risks getting shut out of a general election it would likely win.
It forces parties to pick favorites in primaries just to avoid shutouts. It fails to do what its proponents intended—often the opposite

Trump pressured Republican states to rig their electoral maps, because he saw a midterm disaster coming for his party. He knows they will lose big without rigged districts. Virginia can level the playing field and stop his newest scam tomorrow by voting YES for fair election maps. #VoteYesVirginia
$108 billion in debt from this coming Warner Brothers merger will be hard to handle if everybody cancels their Paramount and HBO Max Extreme Plus subscriptions.
Do Virginia voters understand what is needed from them to save democracy? California's voters showed they did by voting for this course of action by 61%.
This is a huge question not just for the fate of US democracy but also for the question of the role of mass electorates in defending democracy.
Should we be grateful that at least it is not panda sex?
Vaccinating kids had benefits far beyond any attempt at herd immunity.
Far, far beyond.
The people who prioritized going to brunch over open schools.
We could have prioritized open schools. We did not.
I try to do better with my daughter, but the number of times my mom tried to get me to discard beloved items…
The thing to realize there is that the plastic crap was NOT your stuff.
It was your kids’. If it sparked joy for them, it stays.
Difficult as a parent to keep that straight sometimes.
She said “keep what brings you joy”
She also said that people tend to keep books that don’t bring them joy.
A lot of people don’t know how to Kondo.
I always remember the radio show where the host tried, thought “when will I ever need purple pants”, got rid of them and then needed them two weeks later.
The question is “do they spark joy?” NOT “are they useful?”.
Joy is not a common criteria here.
