How Travelodge in Maidenhead gave sex attacker key to woman's room The woman, who woke to find Kyran Smith sexually assaulting her, branded a £30 reward offer

This story is staggering. Gisele Pelicot called for shame to change sides. #Travelodge have shown no shame despite their self-proclaimed “correct procedures” enabling a sexual predator to obtain a duplicate key card and carry out an assault.

I'm very proud to be working with @floodlitdreams.bsky.social and #TonyAdams on #1996, an exceptional book. It's incredibly raw and honest, but gives hope to all who think they've reached rock bottom. Football stories and #FootballBooks don't come more powerful than this.

Of all that's been written about the Lionesses' magnificent victory, one word has stayed with me:

The Euros from the Sofa #7 Writing about what catches my eye in the UEFA Women's Euros 2025

In the latest Euros from the Sofa, I talk about the Lionesses, Sunderland, and an amazing sports photographer whose work you need to know. Eve of final nerves? Me too. But this team always saves the best till last.

“The Hegerberg pen wasn't a pen, Lydia. Offside all day long.”

“Charlotte, how many times? A player can’t be offside until she’s active but she can still be fouled.”

On my Substack today, I'm joined by a good friend to natter on about all things UEFA Women’s Euros.

Loving your work. I’ve tried three times to upgrade to a paid subscription on Substack and it always fails to complete. I will try again but mentioned it in case the problem is your end.

In my latest Substack I’m thinking about Sussex. I go to Brighton for the WSL match, ponder pond puddings, and get a bit awestruck at some art.

In my Substack I write about my adventures in football, great books, and random stuff that's caught my interest.

This week: the Vertu Trophy, the Utilita Girls' Cup, a book about a woman writing a book, and some nature notes (because it's spring).

I love talking about networking and giving practical tips for how to do it (clue - most people finds it a little artificial and that's OK). I'm hoping to see as many @womeninfootball.co.uk members as possible for what is always a fun session 👐

Today I’m thinking of my former colleagues at the Premier League, EFL and FA who work in player registrations. They truly put a shift in on deadline day.

Completely this. As a writer, I want a servant not a co-thinker.

‘Are you kidding me?’: TV writer says she was asked to make female lead 20 years younger Katja Meier says she was told women over 50 were not seen as a ‘valid audience’, so decided to make the pilot herself

The pilot is excellent. I’d love to see #$hare made into a full series. Good luck Katja Meier

UK's hierarchy of accents: 'I thought mine made me sound stupid' Sociolinguists say accent bias is prevalent in the UK and affects how people are perceived by classmates, colleagues and friends.

Accent prejudice literally makes people afraid to speak. Not enough is said about it so it’s good to see this article.

The impact of the Norman Conquest - Impact of immigration in the Medieval era - OCR A - GCSE History Revision - OCR A - BBC Bitesize Learn about and revise the impact of immigration between 1000-1500 with this BBC Bitesize History (OCR A) study guide.

According to this article on the BBC, the Domesday Book revealed that 10% of people were enslaved and the Normans abolished it. Interesting as I always thought they were the baddies, what with what some have called their genocide in the north.
