I saw someone blame Spielberg and Lucas for box office trends shifting towards blockbusters. No, they're not. The fault is that of the studio execs not understanding what made movies like Jaws and Star Wars as good as they are.

This was... a very long and slow game. Not a bad one, the story did keep me going along with the achievements, but it's not beginner-friendly at all. I can see why Nintendo and Square decided against localizing it.

Adler defeated the Emperor on Final Fantasy II for the Famicom without using the Blood Sword, thus beating the game and mastering the RetroAchievements set in 41 hours, 24 minutes, and 12 seconds of RetroArch-logged time. "In Hell's Heart, I Stab at Thee" and "No More Blood Shall Be Spilled" were the last achievements earned for the set, earned simultaneously in a 50-point swoop. This is Adler's 25th RA mastery.

All 64 achievements for Final Fantasy II on the Famicom earned, in what RA logged as 41 hours, 57 minutes. This was considerably above the median of 27 hours, 13 minutes... to Adler's defense, this was their first time playing the game. Probably the last for this specific version.

Turns out this set actually had quite a lot of missables... and I got them all. I'm at the endgame now; just the Jade Passage/Pandemonium gauntlet and the final boss achievements to earn, and it's mastery number 25 in the bag. #RetroAchievements #FinalFantasyII

Just in the first four months of this year, I went from having never seen 'A Knight's Tale' before, to it being one of my favorite first watches of 2026, and getting to personally tell one of the actors in the film (Alan Tudyk) how much I loved it. Crazy how some things play out.

I feel lucky to have been one of the last college graduates to receive their diploma before the takeoff of genAI. I also graduated in 2021. December 2021. Literal months before those cursed AI programs took off.

The generic Eurovision logo made its debut in 2004, with the interchangeable flag inside the heart. As the 2004 contest was held in Istanbul, the Turkish flag was the first to be seen in the generic logo.
