Don't worry, guys, Elon University has nothing to do with *that* Elon. It's been around since 1889 and just has a very unfortunate name.

I saw someone blame Spielberg and Lucas for box office trends shifting towards blockbusters. No, they're not. The fault is that of the studio execs not understanding what made movies like Jaws and Star Wars as good as they are.

The war is finally over. The Emperor, the monsters plaguing the world, and Pandaemonium... had all vanished. Peace had returned once more. Time will heal the wounds of war, but no one will ever forget the young heroes who saved the world.

This was... a very long and slow game. Not a bad one, the story did keep me going along with the achievements, but it's not beginner-friendly at all. I can see why Nintendo and Square decided against localizing it.

Adler defeated the Emperor on Final Fantasy II for the Famicom without using the Blood Sword, thus beating the game and mastering the RetroAchievements set in 41 hours, 24 minutes, and 12 seconds of RetroArch-logged time. "In Hell's Heart, I Stab at Thee" and "No More Blood Shall Be Spilled" were the last achievements earned for the set, earned simultaneously in a 50-point swoop.

This is Adler's 25th RA mastery.

All 64 achievements for Final Fantasy II on the Famicom earned, in what RA logged as 41 hours, 57 minutes. This was considerably above the median of 27 hours, 13 minutes... to Adler's defense, this was their first time playing the game. Probably the last for this specific version.

All 25 of Adler's RA masteries, arranged in a perfect square, with the newest mastery, for FF2, in the center, next to the first game.

Turns out this set actually had quite a lot of missables... and I got them all. I'm at the endgame now; just the Jade Passage/Pandemonium gauntlet and the final boss achievements to earn, and it's mastery number 25 in the bag. #RetroAchievements #FinalFantasyII

Just in the first four months of this year, I went from having never seen 'A Knight's Tale' before, to it being one of my favorite first watches of 2026, and getting to personally tell one of the actors in the film (Alan Tudyk) how much I loved it. Crazy how some things play out.

It's sad that Bluesky is only the 'best' social media site because all the others suck worse than it. Can't we just have one good one? Or do social media sites just suck by design?

A five-year old Wendy Wyler brushes the bunched-up hair of her elder sister, a seven-year-old Nicole, as she watches PPG’s ‘Meet the Beat Alls' while eating a bowl of acorns.

Mojo Jojo (on the TV, off-screen): "This is Moko Jono, she’s a performance criminal!"

Adler’s note: Seriously, if you’re still peddling the ‘Yoko broke up the Beatles’ narrative in this day and age, knock it off. I’ll even be the one to say it, John and his ego were more responsible for breaking up the band than Yoko. Not to mention the untimely death of their manager, the Beatles themselves outgrowing the boy band image they started out with, each individual Beatle having different styles and career aspirations… it’s way more complicated than just 'Yoko'.

"That Joko Didn’t Land"

Wendy knew even at five years old that the whole ‘Yoko broke up the Beatles’ narrative was bullshit, and wasn’t impressed to see Powerpuff Girls peddling it in 'Meet the Beat Alls’. #OTOG #Art #WendyWyler #NicoleWyler #Grunvale

I've mastered the entire PS1 trilogy on RetroAchievements. In the case of the first game, three times. There was a revision of the set shortly after I mastered it the first time, and I've even mastered the infamous Japanese version, which has its own set.

The autism unemployment rate is definitely high, but that stat is based on flawed research, like not taking undiagnosed or self-diagnosed people into account. It should not be taken seriously.

The scene from Pleasantville in which David/Bud tries to alert the firefighters to a fire, in a meme format. The firefighters look confused when he screams about a 'long video essay' ('Fire!' in the original film), but quickly get up when he says 'Short excerpt?' ('Cat?' in the original film).

How I feel seeing the Steam Hams segment of an old video of mine, get almost four times the views in one hour than the original video got in almost two years.

Best of Eurovision 2004: "Dziesma par laimi" (Latvia). I mean it as a high compliment when I say it reminds me of All-American Rejects' "Move Along".

Worst of Eurovision 2004: "My Galileo" (Belarus). Who needs an auditory torture device when you have this song?
