This is why I've been following @mightygodking.com for something like 20 years

@dananessel.bsky.social is an absolute badass and I am so excited to see @esavit.bsky.social pick up and carry the torch when he wins in November
Every once in a while I think about how Thiel, Zuckerberg, Musk et. al. combine the worst antisocial attributes of both nerds and jocks, and then I think about how @hodgman.bsky.social foretold a "Nerd-Jock convergence" in his book THAT IS ALL, and then I picture a monkey's paw curling somewhere
Also, theater kids are the best!
I would love to see an updated version of the data analyzed in this Medium post. Anybody know where Ernesto Ramirez is nowadays? (BTW, in the 2nd paragraph of the linked post, where it says "Recently, someone in the Facebook group asked for some data about the network..."... -- it me, I'm that)
I literally still have unplayed BoCo from 2025 that I was hoping to get to before this year's drive hit!
It's always such a pleasure to read someone shred Sal Khan's life work into tiny, tiny pieces, then jump up and down on the pieces

Ah yes, #MaxFunDrive, the annual event when my unplayed podcast queue jumps from 20 eps to 70 eps over the course of two weeks (complimentary)
Quote post with something good that lasted longer than the Confederacy (1861-1865):
PB Max candy, launched 1989 and discontinued 1994.
Is there some way to block Messages on Apple/iOS products based on keywords? It just occurred to me that if I could filter out all messages containing the word "End2End" my user experience would be 1000% better
Those bastard filmmakers! They screwed up the location of the Statue of Liberty! Damn them all to hell!
What's your favorite way to mix things from different culinary traditions together?
As an example, at the moment I am *super* into falafel simmered in marinara sauce and served on pasta.
@ryannorth.ca I believe you are an expert on this topic
And yes, I know that the Dean of RIETS is not really a good analogue for the Pope, but we have a decentralized, non-hierarchical religion, so whattayagonnado?
As a non-Catholic I am going to stay out of the Vance-Pope discourse. Someone please page me when Jared Kushner starts saying that Rabbi Aryeh Lebowitz isn't sufficiently machmir on eruvin or something like that
What a feeling
I like how they waited to roll this out until *just after* the McElroys won the I Heart Radio Podcast Award for Best Ad Read.
I 100% believe you that it would take many months and tens of thousands of dollars, and I am not trying to minimize that at all. But @wonkette.bsky.social has loyal fans who love you, so maybe that's not as insurmountable a hurdle as it seems?
@wonkette.bsky.social Just brainstorming here, but have you considered starting a special-purpose fundraiser called "Help us migrate our 22 year archive to a less-awful platform"? 'Cause I'd definitely kick in an extra one-time $10 gift for a costly project like that, and I bet I am not alone
Not for nothing, but remember how Trump's 2016 campaign slogan was "Drain the swamp"? Anti-corruption is ALWAYS a popular message, *especially* when the corrupt is so overwhelmingly transparent
The original 1970s Firestorm series. I was in middle school, took me three years to hunt down all five issues.
That is really gorgeous
In a mature democracy, we just hide the treason evidence documents in a bathroom at Mar-a-Lago
I know, I know.... you do not, under any circumstances, have to hand it to them. But these are pretty much spot on.
I canvassed signatures for the original @notpoliticians.bsky.social anti-gerrymandering ballot initiative in 2017 and it remains one of the things I am most proud of. A ballot initiative structured on the Montana model described in the linked post would get me back out on the streets
