I'm not neccesarily complaining, the art is still usually cool as hell and people can draw whatever they want, but it does strike me as odd; if you like the game you pick up from the dialogue she's got a bigger build and is self concious about it.

Feels like a misrepresentation to make her thin.

"i can't go back" is a wonderful bit of music, really floaty ethereal feel to it despite having such a sick guitar riff and drums cutting through the quiet.

Then, plot happens. The reason why my dumbass project is titled Mindjack.

Concept so far storywise is you're a space ship salvager, tearing apart wrecks for salvage to sell.

When returning with your haul, the warp gate malfunctions yeeting you into uncharted space and forcing you to investigate an abandoned station to repair your 'lil junker.

After that, I'm gonna add in the early idle mechanics, which I think'll be collecting scraps of the defunct station to build bots to harvest stuff, build facilities, manufacture items etc etc.

Once I have...well...any gameplay at all really, I'm gonna write the intro sequence properly.

I reformatted the page, added a couple other test items, fixed the item names overflowing the boxes and added in the beginnings of the location system.

Need to make some art or something for the locations down the line...

Generally when I see these "XYZ generation trend" things that go viral, I kinda get where it comes from - or at least I can just attribute it to older folk being grumpy as I will be in time.

My main takeaways so far is that I suck ass at writing and JS is neat. Also I really need to learn how literally any of the higher level stuff works because being able to .Find() an array is black magic and the fact you can just whack any old type into one array terrifies me.

At the moment I'm just playing around and testing things, namely printing storyline/item pickup text to the log as well as an inventory/item usage system.

Once I've got an idea of how to make barebones mechanics not suck complete ass I'll actually sit and design properly.

Recently I decided to start making an incremental game just as a little hobby project, only spent a couple hours on it so far but it's good fun.

I've only ever coded in C, specifically doing embedded systems design so working with JS is...interesting.

Even if it could, idk if I'd bother. It's like 1 minute to just type it out myself and I have to learn how to do it either way to understand what comes out and adapt it anyway.
