A soccer player in green is near the goal. The ball is touching him high on his arm, near the shoulder. The opposing goalkeeper is a couple feet away, reaching toward the ball.

Referee Abuse Prevention Policy

US Soccer's new Referee Abuse Prevention Policy includes a *massive* increase in penalties for abuse of all kinds, including what have heretofore been considered "minor" offenses. I wonder if NFHS, NAIA, NCAA, and others will follow suit. www.ussoccer.com/rap #soccer #referee

Wayne contributed to Nebraska soccer as a referee, instructor, assessor, assignor, State Referee Administrator, coach, and fan. He participated in thousands of matches and directly impacted tens of thousands of referees, players, and coaches.

Not bad for a guy who never played the game.

Saturday night, my dad, Wayne Wilson, was inducted into the Nebraska State Soccer Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement as a Referee. His work led to the Nebraska Referee Development Program we know today. I had the honor of delivering his acceptance speech on his behalf. I am so proud of him.
