I asked my sister if she remembers any other reels we had. She thinks the Flipper tv show, Pippi Longstocking and The Smurfs! 😁

Can’t remember having 3D reels, but had a View-Master and projector if memory serves where we could watch the reels on the bedroom wall. The only reels that come to mind are quite random - the Laurel & Hardy cartoon and western TV show Bonanza! 😁 I had no idea what my parents were thinking 🤣
A Forest, Lullaby, Pictures of You, Plainsong, The Lovecats. Probably my top 5.
Never seen it, but that looks like Neil Morrissey, so is it ‘I bought a vampire motorcycle’?
Ah Going for Gold. Still one of the best game shows thats ever graced our screens imho. Great concept, theme tune and inspired choice for host. Most of the fun was tuning in for the opening credits and marvel at our European neighbours’ unique ‘waves’ to the camera! 😁
At last, people who hate the character of L3 as much as me! 😁The worst Star Wars character ever written or performed imo. And the main reason I can’t watch this film again. To quote the episode “I was so glad when she died”. But Disney obviously disagreed as they hired PWB for Dial of Destiny too 🙄
I rarely turn off a film, but an hour into this nonsense I just had to. There was no way I was wasting another hour of my evening on poorly written characters and a meandering plot. Just an incredibly dull, soulless ‘blockbuster’.
Fair play, that German accent is pretty much a perfect impression of Sam Kelly’s Captain Geering from ‘Allo ‘Allo.
I felt your pain at the start of Donkey Kong Steve! Currently trying to finish the old Indiana Jones game The Emperors Tomb on X-Box, and I’m ready to quit it as I can’t nail multiple double whip jumps on the last level! 🤬 And I used to think gaming was a fun pastime? 🤣
#FisherPrice Adventure People toy line of the #70s and #80s. For me, one of the all-time great toy lines from back then. Easily up there with #StarWars and #MotU when I was a kid for playability and variation. Some of my own collection here including The Daredevil Sport Van and Sea Shark sets.
My newest night time TV watching ritual is the #90s classic ‘Strange But True?’ presented by Michael Aspel. A show I remembered fondly as a teenager. Definitely a contender for an inclusion in a 90s edition of @scarredforlife.bsky.social if we ever have the pleasure of reading one! #UKTelly
Ah yes, the 70s original - nice! Only knew the 80s update myself, with updated house illustrations and that glow in the dark skull! 💀
One of my favourites as a kid. No idea what happened to my childhood one. Picked up a complete version in pretty good nick a few years back on eBay.
Thanks for the reply. Thats really helpful. Appreciate it 👍
Genuine question Steve, how do feel about the screen size on these? When I read it was 8” with what looks like a significant border artwork around it, it puts me off a bit. I’m contemplating getting one, but unsure about the screen size.
So can I. And I haven’t had one of these in almost 40 years! 😁
Probably my favourite #PickNMix or 10p mix sweet back in the #80s - Chocolate Skulls or ‘Skull Crushers’. They looked terrifying which is why they were so popular I guess! I was going to say they don’t make them like they used to @scarredforlife.bsky.social but apparently they still do! #UKSweets
Holograms, transfers, stickers, even stick n lift! I loved it all. Simpler times Steve! 😉
And that’s all 6! Collection complete! 😍 #DungeonsAndDragons #Holograms #80s #Vintage ⚔️ 🐉
Double Dragon - another classic and another one of my faves. Fond memories of a 2 week holiday with my family in the late 80s, and I spent most of it in the small arcade the hotel had playing Double Dragon! 🐉 👊😁
Looking back, as a teen, there were a few solo arcade machines in different locations that I used more than full arcades. The local footy club had World Cup 90 and then Shadow Dancer. The newsagents by my school had Street fighter 2. And my local leisure centre had Rampage - my all time favourite!
After seeing your video the other day on the Evercade Alpha - I’m really tempted to get one! Oh and on the new paid entry arcades, there’s one just opened nearby so will definitely check it out!
The arcades when I was a kid had a magical aura about them, a bit like going to the movies. Probably as there were none near me, going to them were seen as a treat or something I went to when on family holidays. The closest I got at home as an 80s kid was the Star Force game - which I still have!
Currently playing… Rock Star Ate My Hamster. It’s 1988 all over again! Never did get those 4 Gold Discs - did anyone?! #ZXSpectrum #CodeMasters #80s #ComputerGames #Retro
Also, is it sad I still remember the name of Fraser’s Husky dog in Due South? It’s Diefenbaker 😁 And the late great Leslie Nielsen guest starred throughout as a Mountie Sgt. The latter seasons suffered I think when his detective partner left the show. Their chemistry was a big part of it.
I kept saying “I watched that too!” throughout this ep! Street Hawk, Bad Influence, Due South, Murder One. And yes, Speedball 2 was one of the best 16bit games of all time imo - great 2 player game. Murder One was excellent 90s TV, but lost its way in S2 when the engrossing S1 case was wrapped up.
Now there’s some childhood memories! Loved Wide Awake Club. Tommy Boyd seemed ever present on Children’s telly for years! What were the presenters like? (If you can remember that far back! 😁)
That you?!
