It is a murder mystery house game to find the killer.
You don't 'solve' the murder. But collect cards and prompts to imagine how it was done.
A weak hand breaks your accusation. A tumbling tower releases the killer at your remaining suspects.
Yeah. I think for me the experience of those first two were so tightly tied to a certain age, situation in life and way of being that I needed to make a clean break when I moved on to other things. But I heard great things about Midnight, and frankly it might be time to dive back in.
I used to be a bit obsessed with Before Sunrise and Sunset back during my student days, then kinda burned out on them, and never watched Before Midnight. I should really do a trilogy marathon one of these days.
(Also, those moves are beautiful)
Today is the day, and I'm literally Breathless (ok, I was working out, but whatever, you know what I mean)
My 4 year old zombie survival horror game is being remastered and published by a REAL publisher, and it's live on Kickstarter
I made it, guys ^^
Can you help us spread the word?
The other thing I think about this is that quick cycles and rapidly changing numbers are not really conductive to tracking with pen and eraser. (Also definitely the tactile pleasure bit!)
A complete TTRPG called PIG AT A WEDDING. You can download a text-only version of it here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/pig-at-wedding-153576626
PIG AT A WEDDING is a one-page TTRPG where you must sneak a pig into a wedding and release it at the most traumatic possible moment.

”Get ready to become… discard!”
IN THE LIBRARY WITH THE WRENCH, a small A5 book. The cover displays an illustration of a man with his back to the viewer. He's in a library, holding a large book in his right hand. His left hand is raised to ward off another man who looms out of the shadows in the background, one arm wrapped around the neck of a terrified woman, the other brandishing a knife.
The cover of IN THE LIBRARY WITH THE WRENCH is inspired by, and makes use of, art from the covers of pulp magazines and novels, largely from the 40s and 50s.
I love the aesthetic of these books, so in this thread I'm going to share some of my favourite covers, plus some reading I've been doing. 🧵
All The Problems In This World is an amazing zine shop in Berlin, Germany. as well as zines from queer subcultures and other countercultural stuff, it stocks no small number of TTRPG zines. it's facing closure due to gaps in funding! can you help by donating to its GoFundMe to keep this place open?
You know how in a library no one’s trying to sell you anything?
That’s how the internet was.
I also feel personally attacked by an unjustified right margin, if it’s any consolation.
This is going to be so good – can’t wait to see what gems you come up with!
Me adding another clove of garlic to what is called for in the recipe: the coin don’t have no say
/ it’s challenging, the situation is charged, they are fighting back etc. – this is where most of the moves you roll for live / It’s easy – the GM will just tell you what happens.
Good thread! One thought that I’ve had, which I’m not sure if it holds up under scrutiny, is that the mechanical way AW’s moves deal with difficulty is collapsing it down to three categories: it’s difficult – you have to do something first to get into a position where you can try it / …
I’m working on a restaurant game with @nightjargames.bsky.social! Chef’s Blades is a FitD game I usually pitch as ”the Bear in space”.
There’s a playtest kit that I just haven’t gotten around to publishing, but I’ll try to get it up on itch this week if you’re interested.
Yeah this slaps.
I've launched 4 (very) successful TTRPG crowdfunding campaigns in as many years. One like = one no-nonsense take on indie TTRPG crowdfunding.
The newest update for the Boundless Space playtest is up on Itch, for anyone who'd like to try their hand at a little sci-fi space trading in a faraway solar system.
This update has added a new port, the Railhead, and 12 passengers to move your game along!

Love the feeling of depth in this one!
BOUNDLESS SPACE: Playtest V2 is a go! For this update, I've expanded and cleaned up the rules, as well as a 2nd port and 12 passengers to ferry around the belt, learning their troubles, & changing the Eridani system in the process!
Patrons get it a week early.

Hasbro’s annual earnings came out this week, so I took a look. It is truly staggering how much Wizards of the Coast has changed the company since they were acquired; when looking at unadjusted earnings the Wizards of the Coast and Digital Games division was the only…
Something to be said about the sound and physicality of those autocannon rounds rattling off that laser cannons just can’t live up to.
It drives me nuts how people keep using the term ”tool” to describe some kind of soft use case for genAI when it’s pretty fucking obvious for anyone who’s been involved in any kind of creative endeavor that that’s not really what it is or how it’s being used.
Good luck with the new job!
This is what designing with intent looks like. Great thread.
