Saving paper back in 1727... This book works from either end! It made cataloguing tricky but it's now fully online with images to browse and download at:

Unexpected mining heritage on a day out at St Aidan’s RSPB site! Beautiful sunshine and an electric Tramper chair to borrow - hurrah!

My challenge is transporting my crutches for the other end whilst riding a bicycle…. It has to be a good enough day that I can manage with folding walking sticks. Same issue with the e-scooters in our local scheme.

My father in law saw pictures of the venue and was desperate to play it… I didn’t ask whether it was still functional!

Ever heard of the CONARLs scheme? It's a way of accessing cheaper interlibrary loans by both libraries agreeing to a fee of £6.00. Open to all libraries & free to join.
Come and chat to librarians who use it at our next NAG Members Coffee and Chat event on Wed 22nd April

They have two Mountain Trikes - one lever push and one attendant powered which they let me have a play with. Great to try out some different wheels and fab if you’re only travelling with a pavement capable model!

Great day at Sudbury Hall
@nationaltrust.org.uk with the kids and thanks to them having loan wheelchairs available I can even still move this evening. Hurrah!
Some very cool off road models available if you ask too!

Interesting. I think I would find it very difficult myself to go between loud and quiet. My brain has adjusted to life at the amplified volume and accepts that level of background noise as normal now. It just never occurred to me to take them out after I got them other than sleeping!

1 week ago 2 0 1 0

There’s an adjustment period but now I can’t feel I’m wearing them unless I touch my ear. Love that I can Bluetooth stream my audiobooks from my phone too - no headphones required!
Main downside - not waterproof…. Tricky in heavy rain.

Picture of hearing aid

The “starter” /milder hearing loss NHS ones are pretty small - I’m sure they will have options for teeny ears!

I have one and I love it! Hearing aids have drastically improved my life.

Very pleased to announce that BT Group Archives and UCL Department of Information Studies have a fully-funded PhD on offer.

It's a really exciting one: to investigate how new computational methods can be used to get the most out of a digitised audiovisual collection.

We have pointed this out to store staff on multiple occasions. I tried using Twitter to contact Sainsbury’s. Nothing. (I can’t use Facebook to contact them as they closed my account on me - don’t ask!)

I would really like to buy this Sainsbury’s gluten free choc pudding. But they keep shelving them in ambient in my Heaton store not the chiller despite the clear “keep refrigerated” labelling…..

Room under renovation with yellow weird paint and piles of ladders and scaffolding

Room under renovation with yellow weird paint and piles of ladders and scaffolding

The whole house was covered in this hideous yellow paint stuff up to the picture rail which had to be scrubbed off with scourers. My wife’s skin reacted horribly to something in it so that was mainly my job….

Dad taking the wall down was fun. And it reduced the wallpaper stripping considerably - which in that room was coming off in millimetres even with full on steamers….

Pre refurb kitchen with only oven as appliances

I do still have a “before” pic! Didn’t think that would still be on my phone. Can’t quite believe it was 2014…

We have a 1930s with what was originally a minuscule kitchen. You could barely open the oven door without hitting the opposite cabinet. Took that wall down, made open plan and gave it an extra foot. Fridge/freezers are in dining room area of the dual room in order to have washer and dishwasher.
