“How do you create fandom?”
You can’t optimize for that. Fandom comes when people have a genuine connection with art. They feel seen, inspired, or interested by a new perspective.
Art needs a soul if you want fandom.

Another thing people don’t talk about when talking about people’s happiness - beyond inequality - is the level of alienation and anti sociality that has, in my view, gotten worse. I don’t think it’s just phones causing that. People are more surveilled, more lonely, more public space is policed etc
